So I recently played a gig at an MLP convention and while I was there, some interesting things happened and my best friend and I had a funny conversation that I thought you guys might find funny too. So first, some context. While we were at the hotel, we set up the main ballroom to be the location of our rave. Stage, lights, sound, the works. Suddenly, in the middle of sound check, we have no power for our lights and speakers. The building lights are fine though. So, our friend from the UK, who has experience with large electrical systems goes with the hotels electrical engineer to the basement, and eventually, they have to throw the master switch. LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THIS SWITCH! It was the biggest "turn it off and then back on" situation I have ever seen. All the lights went out while we rebooted the whole building so that we could have our rave. Later on, my best friend (the one who took the vine I linked) who was the lighting director for the rave, took me out to the main lobby. It's one of those hotels where, if you look up, you can see the ceiling like 20 stories up and all the hotel rooms are on the sides. (Kinda like this.) This is possibly the best exchange of dialogue I have ever had with anyone, ever. TripDiam: "Look, Lyonize. Everything the light touches... we had to turn off." Lyonize: "Everything?" TripDiam: "Everything." Lyonize: "What about that shadowy place?" TripDiam: "... Yeah, that too."

You know it's bad when you have to turn off the lights in the shadowy place!
