Name: Nester
Species: Olive baboon
Sex: Male
Age: 2 months old
Appearance: Nester's hair is still sparse, as is the case with very young baboons. He has dark brown fur covering most of his backside and along the outsides of his arms and legs. His face, underside, ears and fingers are almost completely bare. His skin is a light, pinkish fleshy color. Nester's eyes are a deep, almond brown and flash a bit of hazel in the bright sun. His ears are comically large compared to the rest of him - they give his face a charmingly innocent look.
History: Nester's past is unknown to him - he was left alone in the middle of a grassy field, where his adoptive mother Hoda found him. Hoda is an enormous, 42-year-old African elephant who was also separated from her family. Nester has accepted Hoda as his mother and clings to her constantly. Since he is not yet able to climb much, he spend most of his time "nestled" in the tip of his mother's trunk, hence the name she gave him. Since Hoda was nursing a young elephant before losing her family, she is able to feed him her milk, along with the occasional solid food she finds in the environment.
Personality: Nester is currently too young for his personality to have developed complexly. Nonetheless, despite being wary of everything that isn't mother, Nester appears to have a strong curiosity. As of now, his curiosity is focussed on what his mother is like - when the two lie on the ground together, Nester leaps about and explores the mountain that is Hoda. Living with an elephant is still quite new to him, and it is a bit like moving into a mansion - he is not quite sure what to do with all this space!
