Greetings and salutations everyone!
Gather 'round everyone, I have something to tell you.
So, where to begin. Well, over the years we've had a great little community here on TLKGO, sure we've had our share of rough times but we've always managed to pull through. With TLKGO's TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY coming up, I felt I'd do a little something to reward you the community, the heart, soul and blood of TLKGO itself.
What's that I hear you say?
"I dunno Pulsar, this seems odd and fishy, you're never this energetic... You aren't bringing back that super happy whatever it is are you?"
Oh you, silly. While Pulsar's Super Happy Candy Coated Land of Happiness Where Everyone Is Happy And There Is No Evil Dictatorship At All! will rise again someday from the ashes and free the people from the tyranny of Dark Lord TL!.... This announcement isn't about that.
"Ok, you have me curious, what gives then?"
That's a good question! <Insert name>. You see, over the years I've picked up a few games from various Steam sales, nothing too major mind you it's just a small list. So! I figured what would be better then to give some of them away to you the community!
"WOW! Really?! That's great Puls-"
Ah ah, let's not jump the gun just yet, this isn't an episode of Oprah, I'm not giving out games to everyone! I may be handsome and rich but I'm not THAT rich!
"So what then?"
Well, sit down and let me tell you how it'll work. What will happen is, you the community will vote for your fellow members, those votes will be tallied up by me and the winner will get their choice of one of the games from the list!
Think of it as a gift from the community to itself. Or something along those lines anyway.
"Ok, I'm interested, so how does it work?"
I'm glad you asked my curious friend!
So let's go over some of the rules and operations of how this little hoopla will go.
I'll list them in points for easy reading.
- Each member will get 3 votes, they will choose 3 OTHER members and organise them from highest to lowest in a descending order.
for e.g.
1. Pulsar
2. Ruby
3. TL
- The member in spot 1. will get 3 points, spot 2. will get 2 points and spot 1. will get one point. The idea is you put the one you believe to be the most deserving at the top with runners up following after.
- The votes will be submitted TO ME, BY YOU, THROUGH PM (Personal Message). This way the voting is private. I don't want the voting to cause rifts between people (I'd like to avoid competition and people feeling like they're pressured to vote for someone) hence why I'm having it done privately. This way you won't know who voted for who.
- Voting for this event is entirely optional, you don't have to participate if you don't want to, I would also like to ask members to refrain from pestering one another about voting. I know you guys wouldn't do that anyway but I just want to mention it.
- Once the votes are added up, the winner will get to choose one of the games from the list.
- When choosing I would ask that you be considerate of the age rating of the game. By accepting the game, you are agreeing that you are of legal age to play said game and that TLKGO, it's staff and anyone else on the forum is not responsible for what results of you getting the game you chose (just to cover our butts from potential angry parents). I also reserve the right to blacklist games from the winners choices if I feel they are far too underage for said game's content.
- In the event of a tie, I'll use a random number generator to choose the winner, at that stage lady luck will decide.
- Me, Ruby and TL as staff members are excluded from participating in this event, that means we will neither vote nor receive a reward, so don't bother voting for any of us.
- You can choose to opt out of receiving the reward. In doing so the next person with the highest points will receive it instead.
With all that said and done, I give you the list of available games to choose from!

7. Empire Earth II HD Edition (with expansion)
8. Warhammer: Space Marine
9. Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War Master Collection

14. Torchlight II
Keep in mind that you will need Steam to play these games. If you wish to look into them more, you can find them on the Steam store or use the links in the list.
"What if I have all those games already?"
Well then you're clearly rolling in money mister or misses money bags!
If you do have all the games on the list then that is unfortunate, you can always still take one and give it to someone else as a gift. Once you choose a game what you do with it in entirely up to you.
