Mt. Rukor is the home of the Emperor/Empress Exalted, the imperial family, some of the noble families, and the Emperor/Empress Exalted's chief advisors. It is the tallest mountain in the Rukor mountain chain. This mountain is covered in lush jungle, waterfalls, pools, and a large waterfall and small set of rapids to the south. The Elmas cave is at the very top of the mountain and is where the Emperor/Empress Exalted lives. Water bubbles out of this cave mouth and runs down the mountain spilling into smaller springs and pools. The cliffs and ledges directly below Elmas are nick-named the "Cliffs of the Premier". This is where most of the imperial family can be found lounging alongside some of the noble families. These cliffs, ledges, and boulders are often cool and moist although they can also be dangerously slippery. The pride den is on the west side of the mountain underneath a large overhang. The cub den is on the east side near a small waterfall pool. Prey: Parrots, birds, monkeys, rodents, fish, jungle elephants, okapi, snakes, and chimps. Elmas:The great Elmas cave is the den of the Emperor Exalted. The cave has large openings on every side of the mountain and waters runs out of the middle of each of the caves's mouths. The cave is full of blue, pink, gold, and green crystals that sparkle and shine in the sunsets and sunrises. The Cliffs of the Premier:Large ledges, cliffs, and overhangs underneath Elmas make up the lazy abode of many of the noble families and the imperial family. There are many small waterfalls and pools surrounding the area. The rocks are large and perfect for sunbathing on. Mt. Jakira:With slightly less thick jungle than Mt.Rukor, Mt. Jakira is the home of many of the Emperor's magistrates. The mountain has a very slight slope and is the smallest in the Rukor mountain change. Prey: Parrots, birds, monkeys, rodents, fish, jungle elephants, okapi, snakes, and chimps. Mt. Deo:The fourth tallest mountain in the chain, Mt. Deo is where praetors train and tutor the cubs of the noble families in the ways of the Pride Premier. Noble families live here as well. There are many large cliffs with sheer drops on this mountain, but the tops of the cliffs are very flat and are perfect for flying lessons, hunting lessons, or group discussions. Rock slides are common here. The cub den is slightly to the south while the pride den is north-east of that. The cub den is under a large overhang. Prey: Parrots, birds, monkeys, rodents, fish, jungle elephants, okapi, snakes, and chimps. Mt. Haides:This is one of the smoothest mountains and has the least amount of jungle cover. The top of the mountain is very rocky and has two slight peaks. There are many caves, hollows, and dead trees in and on the mountain and many birds roost here. Near the top of Mt. Haides there are a series of large caves known as "The Roost" where the Commander of Flocks and spymasters gather to report news. Most members of the Pride Premier on this mountain refrain from eating birds to keep the spy flocks in their favor. Prey: Monkeys, rodents, fish, jungle elephants, okapi, snakes, and chimps. The Roost: A series of large caves at the top of Mt. Haides where the spymasters, slave flock, and the Commander of Flocks lives. It is the primary spy outpost for the flocks and most of the time flocks of birds are coming or going from the place. Mt. Kotori:The third tallest mountain in the Rukor mountain chain, Mt. Kotori is the graveyard for members of the Pride Premier and is surrounded by very thick jungles. There is a large cave near the top of the mountain leading into many different tunnels where pride members are buried. Most do not hunt here, out of respect for the dead. Mt. AmunThe second tallest mountain in the Rukor mountain chain, Mt. Amun is where commanders and generals create warriors, guards, and centurions. Torture goes on here as well. This mountain has a rough, rocky, slope and terrain. There are a few large caves and tunnels, one large waterfall and a small spring. There is jungle towards the bottom part of the slope. Prey:Monkeys, rodents, fish, birds, jungle elephants, okapi, snakes, and chimps. Vartan Desert:Blazing heat during the day and freezing nights make up the Vartan desert. The hot dry sand commonly has small sandstorms and large dunes. There is hardly any food here and small oases scatter the land. The "Teeth of the Desert" can be found on the east side of the desert. Teeth of the Desert:On the outskirts of the Vartan Desert, are a strange clump of sharp, glistening black rocks that protrude out of the desert sand creating, long shadows across the dunes. A small military outpost is here. Small rodents and lizards can be found here to hunt along with the occasional bird.
Vartan Slave Pride Territory:The home of the terminal slaves, Caitiff Scarred, and the Vartan slave pride, this territory spans most of the Vartan desert. The pride den and cub den are at the largest oasis nearest the Rokur mountain chain. Two other large oases can be found in the desert, one to the north and one slightly to the south. Each oasis has a small pool of water, large boulders, rocks, stones, large desert palms, ferns, grasses and date trees. Hot, dry winds usually blow through here and there is hardly ever rain.
Prey: Desert hares, small birds, lizards, ostrich, rodents, and antelope. North Savannah:The great north savannah is rather unexplored and uncharted territory. There are a few sparse trees here and some boulders. There could be small prides of lions here. The empire is currently considering expanding to include the north savannah territory. Some scouts, spies, and warriors are sent this way sometimes to explore and rotating military guards/warriors will sometimes hunt here.
Prey: Gazelle, buffalo, pronghorn antelopes, rabbits, ferrets, meerkats, and rhinos. Velius Valley: The Velius Valley is a large valley filled with dark brown dirt and large sharp rocks and boulders. The rift is in between two large sloping rock formations. There are small grasses here and the stones are often cool in the evenings. Exiles are sent through the valley and away from the Pride Premier. There is little prey to be found here.
Prey: Rabbits, antelopes, rodents, and birds. Mt. Du'an (The Tombs of the Premier):Mt. Du'an is a huge crescent-moon shaped mountain far to the west. The mountain is also the graveyard of the imperial family of the Pride Premier and is where Empress Solongo is buried. It is nicknamed "The Tombs of the Premier" and has a large cave with many tunnels leading into it. This is where the imperial family is buried. The mountain hardly has any prey and is rather desolate. Mist and fog are common on the mountain. The winds are often chilly and cold.Prey: Rabbits, birds, rodents, and antelope.
Life Spring:
The Life Spring is a large, cold, bubbling spring/pool of water on the southern side of Mt. Du'an. The spring is the source of the Jocasta river. This area is said to be haunted by the ghosts and spirits of the Pride Premier and is considered sacred ground. Some say the water is holy and can give lions strange dreams and visions. It is considered highly disrespectful to hunt in this area or spill blood. The Black Cliffs:
The Black Cliffs are a series of high, towering, cliffs on the edge of the Pride Premier's territory. These cliffs are black and full of sharp, pointy stones, clefts, and overhangs. The cliffs border the great western ocean and have a sheer drop, molded by the constant beating of ocean waves and spray. The graveyard of the Jocasta slave pride is here. Mist is very common on these cliffs and there is very little prey. Prey: Birds, and rodents. Jocasta Slave Pride Territory:
The Jocasta slave pride territory is the largest territory of the slave prides. It spans much of the Jocasta river and has many hills, and trees. Mist is common here in the mornings. Lately this area has been very dry, and the river has gotten smaller. This pride is the largest among the slave prides and suffers a lot with so many mouths to feed. Prey is less plentiful and the herds seem to be leaving and moving north into the Haides slave pride territory. Prey used to be relatively plentiful here. Giant thunderstorms are common here. Prey: Rabbits, meerkats, warthogs, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, crocodiles, hippos, buffalo, wildebeest, pronghorn antelopes, zebra, and gazelle.
Haides Slave Pride Territory:
The Haides slave pride territory is full of fertile grassland and trees. Slave flocks are commonly seen coming and going across this area and birds are commonly seen hunting here (although this makes many of the slaves and centurions angry as this can create competition between the slave pride and flock). The Haides slave pride is rather large and has a lot of prey, more than ever now that the herds are moving through their lands. Small storms are common here. Prey: Rabbits, meerkats, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, buffalo, wildebeest, pronghorn antelopes, zebra, and gazelle. Rukor Slave Pride Territory: The Rukor slave pride territory is home to the healthiest slave pride. This area is full of fertile grassland, trees, and has three lakes in it; Lake Afon, Lake Inra, and Lake Agot. Lake Inra is the largest and is connected to Lake Agot by a small stream. All three lakes are full of plentiful fish and waterfowl and have rather dry banks. Hippos and crocodiles frequent this area and many herds come here to drink. Rivers crisscross this land and there are small bits of jungle in the northern parts of the territory nearest the mountains. Rain is common.
Prey: Rabbits, meerkats, warthogs, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, crocodiles, hippos, buffalo, wildebeest, pronghorn antelopes, zebra, and gazelle.
