I reckoned we have enough Whovians on this forum for the show to deserve its own thread... Series 8 has finally started! New episodes! New Doctor! Discuss!

Yeah, I agree it does deserve its own thread but wow, where to begin xD I think I'll start with a few thoughts about last Saturday's episode. I bet we all Whovians here saw it already, but I'll still mention this here just in case: SPOILERS from the episode Deep Breath to be discussed-When the Doctor looked at his face in the mirror, he recalled having seen that face before. Is that referencing Capaldi's previous appearance as Caecilius in The Fires of Pompeii?, sure, there were a few theories already before Deep Breath aired, but this could be the first actual clue about that mystery. He admits to not knowing where do his new faces come from, perhaps it copied Caecilius' face in a way? Maybe the writers just threw that line there as sort of an easter egg and don't intend to explore it further, but who knows. -Who published that Impossible Girl ad in the newspaper for the Doctor and Clara? And by extension, who gave Clara the TARDIS' phone number to call for computer help back in The Bells of Saint John? Clearly someone who wants Clara and the Doctor to find each other again. Maybe it's that woman in "Heaven" at the end of the episode? who, like Clara at some point, refers to the Doctor as his boyfriend? O.o -This is one that really intrigues me, Who lied about their basic programming, the Doctor, or the Half-Face man? The Doctor says they both know who's lying, but it's never really shown to us who did. Regardless of Half-Face being a robot with a conscience or not, the outcome basically was either a murder, or an assisted suicide. In any case, both of the versions show a very dark side of the Doctor, which the show will probably keep exploring.

-Cough splutters- Well, Leto, I managed to, well, think up my own theory of the whole Newspaper + Heaven girl thingy.
So, if you look into other shows that River songs in (Well, according to my parents. xD) They look the same as what that woman does in the episode. If you remember, during the Weeping Angels episode, River song mentions `She is the Doctors Wife` And that woman in Heaven, well I think It`s River song. Why she`s up there is not explained, and Im still trying to find evidence to back it up.
The newspaper thing? Well my parents said it could be the TARDIS, we`ve seen that she can do many things. Many weird things. So perhaps the TARDIS pur the number there? Honestly, I have no evidence for this one, but this is what I think.
Excited for the ep this week!

Leto? haha, I'm Leor, you know xD Hmm I really don't think that "Missy" is River Song, she has the look of an evil antagonist of some sort. I think it'd be too silly, but that's my opinion. Still, "Heaven" looks a bit like the one River ends up in Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead, so I give you that. As for the newspaper thing, that's a good theory, it could have been the TARDIS itself (I mean, herself ><). But who knows, it's a mystery that'll probably get solved this same season. As for yesterday's episode, Into the Dalek I gotta say I really loved it finally we get to see daleks in a whole new perspective, it kept me on my seat really excited!

I wonder who this "Missy" is too. I'm thinking she must be connected to the newspaper advert and the number somehow... But I've no idea how, haha. She reminds me of Madame Kovarian too. Hmm... If they're throwing another romance element at the Doctor I'm gonna be extremely annoyed though. I am so done with all of that rubbish... How are you all finding Peter Capaldi so far? I like him, but I'm having some trouble "placing him". I haven't quite been able to work out his character yet. I really liked how they addressed his familiar face in Deep Breath; I think that's justified as much as they can the fact that he's been on the show before I just finished watching Into the Dalek, but I think I'll need to rewatch it later and try to get some subtitles on. Half the time I couldn't hear what anyone was saying xP And I'm not usually a fan of "shrink people down to go inside a body"-stories, but it did bring up some interesting points about the Doctor. Very nicely done!

You know, when I was watching Into the Dalek, I had a thought where the real reason the Doctor needed Clara for the mission of healing a "good dalek", was because she had been a "good dalek" herself (well, another version of her, at least) back in the episode Asylum of the Daleks. Maybe the Doctor needed her to understand better how can a dalek change its morality like that, based on that past fact. I was thinking they would bring that up at some point, but they never did. Most probably they won't ever mention it later on, it's just a fan theory anyway xD In any case, I think it'd be cool to see Rusty again at some point, maybe he'll show up again in this season.
