Kukoa listened to Sudana's reply and said smoothly "No, I am saying this because if we are being followed we don't want the lion to know that we can smell him." She almost snarled at her, but with held himself, being snappy would not help the current matters. He listened to her sisters explanation and nodded "The South appears to attract wonders like us for that reason." He said, his temper calmed slightly. He would not expand his answer to that, nor answer any questions she may ask him about their destination, he did not trust them all that much at the moment, Sudana less then Raziya.
He gave a brief glance to the icy-eyed lion beside him. His features were defined, his mane full. He was one of the rare lions that lionesses usually flocked around in his home pride, the lionesses there for some reason seemed particularly desperate to have a mate, they would fall over each other whenever a new, handsome, strong lion wondered into town. They rarely stayed though, leaving their lionesses alone, unknowing of the unborn cubs within them. He was irritated by this, not that Leto reminded him of them, he didn't particularly remind him of the irresponsible lions, but that those lions would do that just to leave again come dry season. That was his father, irresponsible. He had come one hot summer, his dashing features and markings racking in the ladies. He flirted and laughed, broke hearts and was an overall jock. He saw kukoas mother and decided that she looked attractive, he hung around her, making her feel as if she loved him. He promised her a great many things: a mate, that he would stay, that he would start a family with her. He did none of those and left one week later. Kukoa despised his father, to a point that he hated himself, he was told he looked a great deal like him, his markings were identified to his fathers, his powers to. His mother was wise and became mates with a more caring lion just before his birth, she said that Kukoa was his and no one second guessed. His sister was born several months later.
He shuddered and looked to the horizon, he would just need to keep walking. They would make their destination within a week if they continued this pace, they would make it in time.

The ice-eyed male noted Kukoa’s glance, through from his teens Leto had known he was handsome, that he had looks some could only dream of. He had drawn the glance of many a lioness back in his homeland. But Leto had held no interest in them what so ever, he was not attracted to females plain and simple, this he had known well-before he hit puberty, but it was only when he had become a teen he fully realized it. Not that many wanted anything to do with him to begin with, the few people he called friends weren’t typically good friends, they feared him and with good reason. Even if Leto was far from the only one in his homeland with powers, his own struck a chord of fear in many.
It wasn’t just his powers they feared; this Leto knew they avoided him because of his master. He was one of the few that could outright resist and at times counter and even contain Leto’s powers that could spiral out of control if the youth got too emotional. This master was someone Leto would avoid if he was given the chance, which was the case now; even if he knew that running in the long run wouldn’t matter, his master would catch him eventually.
The sun was slowly dipping below the horizon, as much as he didn’t want to stop due the fact that his master certainly wouldn’t he wasn’t so sure if their entourage would be willing to continue all through the night; without respite nor reprieve. Even if he preferred if they could continue, Leto would not protest if the rest deigned to stop.

"It's sundown i think we should take a break" Raziya frowned "come on let's keep going ". "Raziya i'm not carrying you again if you collapse due to exhaustion plus you were complaining about your legs hurting did they suddenly dissapear when you saw a pair of male lions?" Saudana said in a almost mocking tone "No! i'm still capable of walking Saudana " a smirk formed on Saudana's lips.

Kukoa looked at the sisters as they fought "We don't stop until it is dark, I am sorry it is like this, but we need to get there as quick as possible and without any extremely important reason to stop we will not. If we had seen a shelter I might re-consider it, but I cant see one and so onwards we walk." He sighed and his tone was more than half apologetic. However as he said, his feet plodded onwards, they wouldn't stop until it was dark, well he wouldn't, they could do as they pleased for he did not know them yet, they were simply within a loose alliance.
He took in a rasp breath as one of his ribs felt as if it were in the wrong place and his face was twisted with pain and he shook his head, stretching out his long body as they walked, trying to make it feel normal again. It wasn't anything serious, he knew that, it was simply a passing pain. He continued at the same pace, his side aching considerably. He grunted as he finally seemed to get rid of the pain.
His ears swivelled as a small bird zoomed from out of the bush, he was alone and had missed migration settlement, he would have very little chance of finding his flock again, but he would try. Kukoa watched as the bird flickered off into the setting sun. He was feeling the strain in his legs and would be happy to stop when they did, but he needed to push it to the limits, he wanted to be safe and hydrated this dry season, he didn't want to be wondering around the unknown world, scavenging for scraps and water.

The soldier heard Kukoa’s words that essentially quelled the siblings bickering, he was thankful that the other male wouldn’t stop until nightfall. That at least would give him some distance to the one pursuing them, though the distance gained might get lost as they stopped for the night. Leto realized he couldn't afford to skip this night as well, he was running at the end of his rope, he needed rest. So even if he didn’t much want to the soldier had to stop this night, one way or the other… otherwise he would likely collapse come morning.
He would not allow his master to catch him because he gave his enemy such a cheap advantage! Though there was a creature far worse than his master that Leto feared even more, one that paradoxically his master had gone to great lengths to keep him safe from. Luckily that beast had left him alone when he was cub, and had not been heard from again, but the memories still persisted, they haunted his dreams. If he had a choice between returning to his master or facing this monster he would’ve crawled back to his master’s embrace in a heartbeat.
The sunlight was fading fast growing from a deep orange to a darker hue of almost purple. The stars were showing in the heavens, twinkling beautifully against the blackened abyss beyond.

"Ugh alright i guess " Raziya said with a annoyed groan Saudana simply rolled her eyes "you always complain hmmp you never complain about anything when we were cubs", "we barely see each other when we were cubs! our stupid mom practically left me for dead " Raziya then gave out a low growl "well at least our stupid mother and aunts didn't make you hit a rock til you paws blood or.. JUST SHUT UP!" Saudana gave Raziya a short and low roar Raziya simply hung her head.

Kukoa decided to let the lionesses sort out their problems alone, it was important for him not to interfier, he barely knew them and it would be rude for him to assume things of them. Instead he simply rolled his eyes lightly and continued walking, his eyes drifting upwards to stare at the beautiful night sky, the stars set within their blaket of dark peace. The corners of his mouth turned up and he smiled as they twinkled at him and felt safe. He loved the blanket of darkness and world once the sun had set.
He closed his eyes for a second and breathed in and out, he just had to get to the watering hole and then he could seas worrying for the time being. He gave a conscious glance down at his feet, he felt as if he was so out of practise being around other beings that he was more temperamental then usual. He was usually calm and chatty, but he felt all messed up inside as if he were a heavy stone on the sea side, yet to be worn down to reveal his true self. His tail flickered and he gave a sly glance to the side of him, past the lionesses. His eyes narrowed and he lowered his head slightly, there was something there. He was cautious as he walked and his steps lightened slightly, but after several long moments of no sounds he relaxed slightly and looked back forwards, but his ears were still very sensitive and flickered with the slightest sound.

The movement behind them was caught by Leto as well; he shot a wary glance behind him to better see what was out there but it turned out it was just a gazelle. The soldier visibly relaxed though his ears were splayed back listening to the bickering siblings, “Will you two shut up?!” Leto hissed under his breath, glaring at them both over his shoulder. “You’re going to draw the attention of the entire savannah the way you carry on!” he added visibly annoyed and if not a little irritated. If the females had to argue they could at least keep it down, it was giving him a headache, and it made them sitting ducks for potential prides or those rogues who claimed ownership of this land; granted why anyone would want to settle here of all places was anyone’s guess, but the threat was there.
Not that Leto was incapable of defending himself, but he’d rather not draw unnecessary attention if it could be avoided. He needed to preserve his strength, if or rather when his master caught up with him.

The two sisters rolled their eyes at Leto's comment "i already dam told Raziya to shut up now didn't i?" Saudana said in a somewhat quiet tone loud enough for Leto and Kukoa to hear.
(I honestly don't know what else to put in my post they'd been walking around for a while now).

He listened to Leto's irritated comment at the two of them and agreed, they weren't helping the overall moral of the group. Sudana's reply didn't surprise him though, they would stick up for themselves, he knew that now, they weren't going to take any thing that they didn't agree with from Leto and himself. Kukoa doubted that would become a problem though, they may just be tried right now, he knew he was.
Kukoa felt the chill of the night as it brushed over his back. The hairs along his back stand on edge and he shivers, the dark is coming and his legs ache with the pain of the long days walk. He looks to Leto hesitantly "What do you think about resting now?" He looked at Leto primarily but then also looked to the lionesses. He needed to know what Leto thought mostly, he seemed to be qualified in this sort of thing. However he needed to know what the females thought, they were part of this group now to and he couldn't simply ignore them because he hadn't warmed up to them yet.
Kukoa's eyes were beginning to fall heavy, his whole movement more sluggish than it was before. He was going to need sleep before long, and he would need it sooner rather than longer. He looked to the ever darkening sky and sighed, the world they lived in was beautiful, sometimes you just need to stop looking to find it.

The soldier’s gaze broke from the horizon when Kukoa spoke up, asking rather subtly if they could stop for the night. Leto’s ears swirled back as he took his time to answer his companion. His eyes scanned their surroundings looking for specifically shelter, a clade of trees, thick shrubs anything that would conceal them from any passers-by. Much to his dismay at first Leto couldn’t see anything, but just as he was straining the appropriate silence he spotted it, a few paces to west of where they were walking was a small cluster of trees, he exhaled a content sigh.
“Yeah, we can rest.” He finally replied gestured a paw towards the trees in the distance, “If we take shelter among those trees over there.” He added quietly, shooting a stray glance back at the lionesses before the soldier hurried his steps hastening towards the clade of trees.
When they got within its covers the soldier immediately found a secluded spot nestles between the trees and bushes, the trees would conceal him, and the bush would cover his scent. This was the only way Leto allowed himself to sleep, he would not sleep out in the open, or inadequately concealed… if he did he might as well slit his own throat, as such mistakes warranted death.
