''No Ruby, you don't know how much I missed you, I was never able to move on from leaving you at the time. I do have new commitments in this pride but I secretly always wanted to go back to see you sometime. I couldn't with Kantu and Schzaire and there was no way to confirm if they were still around. I tought you didn't even care about being friends anymore, that you only came for business and you just happened to stumble upon me.'' Kanuk started to cry. ''With the brutality of Kantu and Schzaire, I tought you had died all this time. At times like this I just wish- I wish I never was a prince...''
A long pause ensued filled with sobs and cruel memories from the past trigered by the word prince. Kanuk was hidden from view. From a small crack, he could see his beaten mother pleading for the life of her cubs, a set of teeth aimed straight at her throat and the figure of his father, lying limp in the jaws of an all but too familiar lion he knew, a look of fear forever frozen on his face. '' You are the only friend I have that knows this, I'm glad we are together now but you can't just expect me to go back either...'' '' And, well.. Faith seems to like me very much, I don't want to start causing too much friction okay?''

"No ive never even seen her before... Heck I havent even heard Of her and me and Kanuk tell each other a lot of things." He looked to Faith "Now tht I think of it, I'm not sure I keep anything from him" he looked puzzled, rambling a tad. When Faith asked him the question, he contemplated it for a brief moment "Usually I'd go but that look on his face tells me we just need to leave him for a little while " Ale smiled a little, a goofy smile that slightly kicked up on the left side more than on the right side and Ale hadn't noticed it until someone once told him. He looked out of the cave mouth "Its only early" he mumbled to himself "Say, we haven't been properly introduced, I mean Kanuk talks a lot about you but I doubt he talks about me, what do you say if we go and chat? Get to know each other?"

Far from the others a large shadow of a lion stood in the mouth of a cave nestled in the rocky chain above his kingdom. Kantu stared at his territory, his hunger telling him that it was not enough and his will pushing him to fight again even after the most recent loss. A muffled cry of pain from behind him brought Kantu back to reality as he turned around to face the battered lion that laid in a bloody mess on the cave floor at the feet of his queen. Schzaire lowered herself to speak directly into the prisoner's ear and whispered in a harsh, breathy voice. "So you still wont tell us who started this little rebellion?" she asked as she slowly stabbed one of her claws deep into the already puncture-littered flank of the lion she questioned. "I will never tell you-" he began to say before gasping at the twisting of Schzaire's claw in his wound.
Kantu moved to join in the torture and gave his queen a quick glance at which she removed her claw from inside the lion's body. "It isn't the job of a citizen to decide which wars their rulers choose to fight," he said stepping on the lion's only good leg before Schzaire continued his thought, "It's the duty of the citizens to follow the order to fight for the crown." The cave was stricken with near silence for a moment, the only noise being the heavy, pained breaths coming from the body of the tortured. "I will never..." he managed to say between troubled breaths, "follow you." "Well isn't that a shame" Kantu said before using his full weight to snap the bone of the lion he stood on, causing him to release a freakish scream that echoed through the valley.

(Ooh graphic Hyper lol)
Ruby took in Kanuk's words and smiled bitterly, "I had my fair share of torture. I am lucky to be alive, they seemed slightly more leniant with cubs though. Especially females who could grow into potential suitors." She shuddered a little. "Even though they are mates, they like to toy with other pride members. Just to make sure we all know our place." She shook her head in disgust and looked up at Kanuk as he started speaking about his bloodline. "In your life here though you aren't a Prince, isn't it enough of an escape for now? Knowing you can just live the life of a normal Pride member?" She sighed heavily at Kanuk, "I don't expect you to return, but now knowing your here, alive and well you can't expect me to return to them. They're awful cats Kanuk, they scare me and you know how it used to take a lot to frighten me. But I can't stay here either." She was silent for a few moments before looking up at him hopefully, "Do you know of anywhere I can hide, or live? Just for a little while."
After her speech she let Kanuk cry about his history and lineage, she made to move and comfort him but hesitated. She couldn't comfort him like she used to anymore. She tilted her head to one side and after a moment made the decision to nuzzle his cheek and tears gently. When he spoke of Faith, her expression harden and a flash of annoyance crossed her lips that he could ever have feelings for someone who seemed so cold as her, but obviously things changed.
Faith watched after the cave mouth before turning to Ale as he started to speak again and gave him a small smile, "He has mentioned you once or twice. I know you two are rather close." She contemplated his offer for a second before dipping her head in a small nod, "A small chat would be interesting. It would be nice to know more about Kanuk's friends. So Ale - am I okay calling you Ale? How long have you known him and how on earth did you meet him?" She asked curiously, starting to walk away from him, "If you follow me, I can take you to the top of our cave so we can talk alone, too many around here." She said, dropping her voice and gesturing to the cave mouth.

The smile slowly came back to Kanuk, learning his friend wanted to stay. He felt Ruby's muzzle against his cheek and hesitated a bit, was he betraying Faith? After all, he was just happy to see the friend from his childhood again, and surely Faith couldn't see him. But what if she did? How would she feel? Kanuk had already fallen in love with Faith on first sight, she had only qualities to speak about. ''But... so does Ruby'' he thought. It would get more difficult, being torn between his love for Faith and Ruby. Snapping back to attention, Kanuk answered Ruby's question.
''Your best bet is the pride. Alebrylla and I did figure out many good places as rogues but none that could suit you long term. Their king is very lenient, we were allowed to join because he needed 2 more males. He would probably let you in. I want you to stay and be happy with us.''

Ale trotted out after Faith "We met a long time ago, shortly after his...you know.." he didn't want to say incase anyone overheard "I found him unconscious lying on the ground and so I dragged him out of the open and got him food, water, ect." he smiled then laughed "That wasn't even the only time I've saved his butt. In fairness to him, he's saved mine a lot too, maybe not physically but mentally and emotionally. I had a rough beginning" he half smiled, sorrowfully remembering things he'd rather forget. And of course you can all me Ale" he grinned "Call me anything just not before dawn" he winked "What about you? How'd you two meet?"

Ruby raised her head and gnawed on her lip, a nervous habit she still had even from cubhood. "Will you talk to him with me? I don't want to go on my own." She admitted, lowering her head. Even though she still had her strong demeanour, Kantu and Schzair had left her nervous of any new people, which was always had a bad outcome if she tried to defend herself.
Faith nodded, Kanuk had told her some of what had happened but not everything and she hadn't been lying when she'd told Ale their friend had spoken of him. "I am surprised you hunted for him. Most males would just leave the other to die. I'm glad you did though." When Ale mentioned that Kanuk had saved his life a few times she couldn't help but giggle. "What is it with guys and not wanting to admit they were helped." She teased, shooting him a playful smirk. When he asked how she'd met Kanuk she thought back with a fondness. "It must have been when you two were separated, I was patrolling the area when I came across him, he'd been injured from hunting. When he regained conciousness, I took him to this pride and our King said he could stay until he was well again but he turned out to be quite handy to have around so he stayed." Faith explained, shrugging a little and smiling.

(Ok so I tried to make an interesting intro for Abeni. She is going to help Kanuk, but first she is journeying to the pride of Kantu and Schzaire to warn them that their reign is almost over. Yeah. We'll see how that goes. Let me know if I should correct anything. Please, feedback is very welcome!!)
Abeni slowly flexed her broad shoulders. The cool night air gently caressed her fur and the scent of jasmine filled the air. "What a relaxing evening!" Abeni thought. It had been so long since she had had time to relax. The Great Kings and Queens had hardly given her time to rest in between her missions. It seemed that the land was filled with confusion and distraction. But today had been perfect. She had brought down a full grown, male antelope, and found a spring of cool, fresh water. The antelope had been young, and tender and she was proud to have brought it down. If only her parents could see her now! She had not returned to her family pride for almost a full moon cycle. Well. She would have time for them soon enough. Besides! Their racket would ruin a splendid night, what with all their gossip and banter. No, she was much better out here in the wilderness, where she could listen to the song of the wind, and watch the stars. And oh, the stars. The Great Kings and Queens of the Past were in all their glory tonight! Surely, the heavens had opened to celebrate such a night with her. Abeni felt so soothed, and felt so pleased with herself that she decide to roll in the grass, even though she had just given herself a well-needed bath.
Then suddenly, the winds changed. A gust rippled across the tall grass, carrying a strong, pungent scent in a southwestern direction. A scent of fear.. and Abeni felt as though her spirit was being torn in two. "Now...who might this be.."Abeni murmured to herself. The Kings blazed overhead and suddenly another gust of wind rushed by in the same direction. Abeni pricked her large ears back towards the direction the gust had came from and listened. Abeni..go. A Prince must reclaim his past. For he is torn in two by his present. "Abeni's blood charged with adrenaline as she revelled in the power that echoed through the voice. Go to the ocean. But first.." The voice drifted off and Abeni stared off into the horizon, patiently waiting for Queen to continue in her melodious voice. Again the winds changed, and Abeni stumbled to find herself facing a mountain of clouds. The wind became cold and she had to grip the soil with her lengthy claws just to hold herself back. Lightning struck and the echo of thunder rolled across the savannah making Abeni's fur rise in fear. "The bloodline has been poisoned. It has stained the land. Blood will be cleansed with blood. Warn them, for the reign will be taken with scars." Abeni trembled as the Queen's voice faded into the distance.
She stared into the sea of clouds and tested the air. She flicked her stormy blue eyes towards the heavens and tried to be brave. This was a dangerous journey to go on and yet, The Kings were with her. They were always with her. They had not failed her before. She would not be abandoned by them now. As she stared into the sky she noticed a particularly brilliant, silvery star in the southwestern sky. It winked, and glowed, and she purred to herself. They would lead her to the lost Prince. She silently took a moment to rest in the Great Kings presence. She felt her spirit leap in ecstasy as it always did when in their presence. Then, Abeni tensed her muscles, bared her teeth, and took off across the plains, tearing up dirt as she raced to the Kingdom washed in blood.

(Sorry for my inactivity, I was occupied but not enough to post in the thread to anounce it.)
Awfully relieved that Ruby wanted to stay and took no time to consider what he offered, Kanuk turned to his friend, a grin replacing his earlier tears. '' Of course I'll go with you, what kind of friend would I be if I didn't help you out? I'll introdu- wait. Do you smell that? '' Kanuk turned around repeatedly, sniffing the air as if he was scanning the area. The scent was most intense towards the west, and surely enough, a silhouette of an unknown lion was approaching them, '' I'll stay down here and do the small talk, you climb the tree so you can jump on whoever that is if a fight erupts.'' As a smooth talker and kind of a drama expert, the encounter probably wouldn't come to violence but you can never be too careful...

Nassir slowly walked out of the bushes "hello... there" Nassir said slowly getting into a fight is the last thing he wants knowing there's another lion or leopard whatever species that Kanuk was with he probably wouldn't stand a chance plus he gets a bit nervous being around other male lions "just a rogue passing by". He said grinning awkwardly.
(i hope this wasn't too short).

(You're doing fine, stop worrying ) A rogue lion, what Kanuk and Alebrylla had been for so long before. Just the two of them against the world. A rogue lion was not to be trusted and that's why prides tended to look down on them. Ale had proved this philosophy wrong but as a worthy point, Ale was something else... ''You should be on your way, rogues aren't exactly welcome in these parts'' and a true thing to say it was but there was only a little problem. Usually a smooth talker, with the recent surge of emotions, Kanuk realised that what he said wasn't exactly phrased right. It might be more provocative than the intented preventive purpose. Looking to avoid fighting but not having enough time to justify himself, all he could do was hope the lion wouldn't take his words the wrong way.

(going to add somethings i forgot to put in my previous)
Kanuk could see that Nassir is a rather muscular lion though he looked a bit young possible a adolescent that become a adult about a month ago though he seemed rather nervous being around Kanuks presence. He lowered his head a bit at what Kanuk said and backed away slightly "Yea.. yea i guess your right about that i shouldn't be around these parts i should somewhere away from here." He said nervously as he backed away a bit more.

Before Ruby could move the feline in question showed himself and she stepped closer to Kanuk automatically as she watched the exchange between them. "But Kanuk, isn't it safer settling somewhere for a day or two before sending them on their way? Living life as a rogue is far more dangerous than getting caught by a pride - sometimes at least." She paused and looked up at him giving him an expression which said 'you should know' before turning back to the other lion, "What is your name?" She asked relatively politely.

Ale smiled at Faith's comment "A lion helped me when I was younger, If it weren't for him I'd be dead, so I thought it only right to help someone in need" he nodded at her explanation to how they met "Sounds about right yeah" he smiled, feeling nostalgic about his past and recollections

Somewhat disturbed, perhaps even disgusted by Ruby's comment, Kanuk had trouble digesting her siding with this rogue. As a fact, Kanuk did know first hand what being a rogue lion was like, it was almost like every one out there obeyed an unspoken of set of rules, one that even remained in pride life.
First, your next meal is an all you can eat buffet. You never know when you might eat next. Second, stay hidden at all times. If any other lions so much as smell you, you may not come out alive. And last, never trust a fellow rogue. Ever, for any reason. Alebrylla was an odd one out but so was Kanuk.
Now almost itching for a fight compared to the peacemaker he was before, it was a scenario that would be thoroughly enjoyed, the lion saying his name and then pouncing on Ruby, leaving Kanuk to save her and show that he was right. Was he jealous? Denying it to himself but knowing that he really was, the only response Ruby got was an almost invisible frown. Kanuk then looked back to the lion standing in front of him, hiding his emotions.

Abeni had reached her destination. Panting heavily, she stared at the rocky terrain and took in a deep breath, scenting the air around her. The sun burned into the tall, dry weeds and grasses and a dusty breeze bent the few trees around the area. She flattened her ears as she smelled the sharp tang of lion blood on the wind, coming from near the peak of the mountainous region. Where was the pride? Surely they would not abandon one of their pride members to an injury. Snarling to herself, Abeni glanced over the craggy slope again and noticed a large cave near the top. Warily, she narrowed her eyes as a large, black-maned lion proceeded out to the entrance of the cave. She flinched when she noticed his blood-red eyes. Immediately she crouched to the ground and stilled her breathing. She slowly raised her eyes and watched as he slowly retreated back onto the cave. She swallowed and gave a low rumbling growl. This situation would have to be dealt with very carefully. Very carefully indeed.

Ruby continued to stare at Kanuk firmly, something she always used to do when they were cubs and she wanted Kanuk to listen to her. "At least let her stay for the night?" Ruby said carefully. Stepping closer to Kanuk and looking up at him she continued and used her usually good weapon, For me, please?"
Faith giggled, "Live and let live I always say, unless your a jerk. Then you can get lost." She looked up at Ale, tilting her head to one side. "Are you the reason Kanuk kept wandering off some nights?" She asked curiously, staring at him thoughtfully, her lilac eyes wide.

Nassir cleared his throat "my names Nassir and also about what you said about rogues yes being a rogue is a really hard life especially if your a male since some prides aren't trusting of male rogues at all. And being a rogue i can't really stay in one place for more than a few days since it might be owned by a pride and don't forget about hyana clans gosh those things are a pain to escape. "

"What?!" he was taken aback by her question looking around for an escape "He's not...were not..." he stumbled, then stopped and dropped his head when he figured out what she meant "You meant that in a completely different way than I thought you did" he chuckled "Yeah we met up some nights and chatted or hung out, alone, under the celestrial guardians we call stars" he sighed happily "It was nice" he said, lying down and rolling into his back "So yes I was the reason he disappeared some nights but not in the way I thought you meant ahh if that makes sense?" he stumbled yet again, putting his paws onto his face to cover his mistake and his slight blush at his fond memory. He shook the blush away before asking "does that make sense?"
