Kwaai stepped out from the shadows of Pride rock, yawning as she did so and arching her back in a long, luxurious stretch. Looking around, she took in the golden and green grasses and the many wonderful sights and smells that her home had to offer. The beautiful scenery intrigued her. Today, she had been lucky enough to be given no hunting duties and Kwaai planned on making the best of her down time to wander and further explore the savannah, as a young cub would a cave. It seemed like it had been an eternity since she last freely roamed her home, so there were bound to be new things to discover, and new animals to meet. In fact, Kwaai had heard that there was going to be a gathering of sorts by the water hole, meant for animals to meet and play and do as they please, and being a cub at heart, she couldn't refuse an opportunity like that.
In one smooth motion, Kwaai leapt from her perch onto the ground below, feeling the warm, crumbling soil beneath her white paws as she eagerly bounded away towards the water hole. Hopefully there would be another lion there, male or female it didn't matter, her only intention here was to meet new animals and have fun, although Kwaai secretly hoped there was a female there. The reason being that the males were usually such kill joys and the females tended to relate and understand her more and accept her, even if her ears were "pointier than a rino's horn".
A few minutes passed and she had reached her destination. The water hole was filled with animals of all types from meerkats to hippos, to giraffes and antelope, but she did not see another lion among the growing crowd. She sat slightly downcast with her ears laid back and eyes searching for someone, anyone, that she could befriend and not feel awkward about it. Hopefully an antelope didn't try and approach her, after all, a lion is The king of the jungle, feared by all other species and the predator of many. Her grey and black flecked tail twitched in discomfort at being here alone, the black hair at the tip brushing against the hard ground and leaving light tracks. Maybe there would be another lion soon, but for now all Kwaai can do is wait.

Enuthu crept from his sleeping cave, tiptoeing between his brothers paws, large and small. His dark features made him stand out in the dazzling sunlight, looking as if a part of the night had resisted the urge to disappear. He began to run, he heard that there was something of importance occurring at the waterhole and so he may just linger there for a while, taking in the sun and deep mumbling of several different animals lives. Enuthu was never one to turn down an adventure, nor an ideal friend, but through all his years he had never possessed a friend and so today was probably not going to be any different.
His black mane rippled in the wind he created as he sped foreword, his frame not making a sound as it glided over rock and soil. As Enuthu neared the waterhole and the general noise it brought with it he slowed and steered into the tree line, his dark features blending him into the background well. Enuthus green eyes slid shut as he enveloped himself in his deep thoughts and questions, losing himself within them.
Enuthu never went out of his way to socialise with others, but he was never too rude as to turn down a conversation. Enuthu may not be a social lion, but he was in no means quiet or timid once his true character bloomed out from the dull casing.
He sat there for what felt like hours, listening, to everything, just simply taking it all in, swaying with the wind slightly. Enuthus thoughts on this particular day were not particularly dark nor light, they were simple questions and questions only others knew the answers to. His brows furrowed slightly over his closed eyes as he tried to find the solution to a particular question, but just wouldn't come.

Kwaai continued to look around for almost an hour before she saw what looked to be another lion approaching. Getting a bit closer, she saw that it was a male and he didn't look to be in a very sociable mood. What stood out to her was his black spikey mane, very uncommon, especially coupled with dark grey fur and neon colored eyes. It was intriguing.
Sitting down and cocking her head slightly to the right, she wondered wether she should approach him or not, after all, he might be the only lion other than herself who shows up to this rather lame get together. She mainly sat pondering what he would think if a hyper female with strange ears just randomly walked up and tried to start a conversation, something that she wasn't horribly good at. To help clear her mind she started dragging her claws in the dirt, leaving deep gauge marks in the hard, grit-like earth. It didn't work very well.
Sighing, Kwaai stood up. Might as well, after all, if I don't then this whole thing might've been for nothing. Hesitantly, she started to walk towards him, unsure of how he would react. She only hoped he didn't try to claw her ears off for trying to speak with him. It only took a few seconds to cross the space between them, but to her it felt like forever.
When she arrived, she sat a safe distance away, as not to appear rude, before speaking. "Uh, hi." She shuffled her paws nervously. "I'm Kwaai, what's your name?" She gained a little bit of confidence with the latter statement, something that tended to happen a lot to her. She would start of shy then gain confidence as the conversation goes on, it had always been like that. She sat, still nervous, patiently awating his response.

Enuthu looked across at the peculiar female a few meters away. He had been disturbed from his train of thought, and so was somewhat startled, he was barely ever approached by others, but gave the slight hints of a smile, not that he was being rude, but just the fact that the corners of his mouth were all most always fastened in a slight frown, the corners facing down. He saw her nervous shifts and said lightly after her more confident question "Hello Kwaai! I'm...." Enuthu hesitated before giving her his name; if his father knew hd had met a girl he would most likely approach him with darker thoughts in his mind. He shook his head and said "Sorry, I'm Enuthu. I've never seen you before, where are you from?" he finished friendly.
He looked over the female, taking all of her in. His neon green eyes, not greedy but gentle and caring, well as caring as they could. His fragmented smile joined up to make a whole, small smile, it spreading to his eyes. Her pointed ears and lighter grey fur did not surprise him, he was more unusual then herself. It relaxed him somewhat how unusual she was, but he did not judge a person by their casing.
Enuthu changed his gaze to the waterhole and said quietly "Not many other lions here today. What brings you here?" he asked not one hint of accusing in his voice. He was calm as always, sensing the lionesses unsureness making sure she didn't feel awkward.
