Kuno watched as she woke and moved to lift herself up, he pressed himself next to her body to support her so she could more easily view the cubs. His eyes were drawn to them... Two little cubs... One smaller then the other.. His eyes widened a moment as he looked at the smaller one; she wasn't moving. In fact her tiny figure had lost its coloring.. Before he could think twice instinct took over and a vigorous tongue ran over her body, shaking her and rubbing the heat of his breathe and body into her system. Unbeknownst to him, it was the age old way to revive the young close to death. Yet that realization didn't cross his mind, and rather he was in a trance as he did it, focusing only on the cub for a long moment until..
A soft cough came from the little cub, followed by a sneeze. She moved her tiny paws and one eye pried open to look at him, as he had paused his licking to gaze at her, jaw agape.. Before her tired eyes shut. Heaving a breathe, she wriggled around and mewed loudly, then curled up and fell asleep. His eyes went to Urim. "Sleep, dear. I'll watch them." He said softly, and his eyes were drawn back to his cubs, ever watching every time their sides lifted, every paw that twitched and every tail flick. An overwhelming feeling of emotions came over him. These were his.. His babies.. His family. He gazed at them, at Urim and at his two new cubs.
He suddenly realized he needed to name them, and decided to try to name the girl.. "What should we call you.." He asked her as she lay still, sides gently moving. "Isabella? Abigail?" He listened as a small growl came from her. Chuckling, he said, softly,"Alright, lets try this one.. This was my sisters name.. She died at birth." He gazed at her, saying softly, "Kimbi.." And as he did so her ear twitched and she opened an eye, to peer at him and turn her head a little. "Alright, Kimbi it is.. My little Kimbi.." He looked back to Urim, he hoped she would name the boy. But soon she would need rest, and it would be his duty to stay up and make sure all was right with the world. Life, it seemed, had just barely begun.
