Kulanni growled in annoyance and walked past the tree. "Forget it. At this rate, I'll be dead before I ever get out of this messed up place."

The snake left the tree and began slithering along beside the lion, which looked strange considering the lump down her middle. "You will not die," she said. "I can catch you sssomething, if you like... That white lion was sastrange, wasn't it?"

Kulanni glanced at the snake. "Yes it was, and tough." He thought about the lion and let out a grunt. "I rather enjoyed the fight, despite the beating I took. I needed to take my frustrations out of something." He stopped and looked at the snake. "Who are you?"

"I am Shhetani," the snake said. " I know: unfortunate name for a sssnake. And you? What brought you here?"

"Kulanni." he replied. "I was just passing through, I've been following two lions."

"Why ffollow?" Shhetani asked. "Are you an assssassssin? A bounty hunter? A devoted fan?" She grinned.

Kulanni growled. "I plan to kill them," he stated flatly. "so yes, I guess you could say I am a bounty hunter of sorts."

BEn was amazed by the cave " how did she find this place?"

"Hmmm.." The snake said, thoughtfully, and was quiet for a moment. "So. Did they wrong yo , or your employer? And what did they do to deserve death? If I may be so bold."

Kulanni thought back to what happened and growled. "Yes, they did wrong me. One of them, Msaliti, was a good friend of my parents. He stayed with us and helped raise me. But then he showed up with another lion named Giza. Msaliti murdered my parents while Giza cursed me and turned me into this monster I am now." He dug his claws into the ground and lashed his tail wildly. "They took everything from me! I want to return the favor."

"Well then. I pray your enemiess recievve justice, but more importantly, I pray that you find peaccce. Now, I sssense a warthog ahead. If you give me a moment, I will catch him for you."

He looked at Shhetani and after a moment, nodded. "Fine."

Shhetani slithered forward through the long grass. The warthog was sleeping beneath a low bush, and even with the lump in her middle she managed to remain silent. Though it took a log time, in the end, it was nothing to position herself around the hog and then coil in, constricting it tightly. She tried to leave the neck exposed and said, "Kulaani, come make your kill."

Kulanni watched the snake approach the warthog and thought to himself. I'm hanging out with a snake, I must be out of my mind. I should be leaving this place. Despite what he thought, he had to admit that he did enjoy the company, if only a little. At the snakes command, he walked up to the warthog and bit down on it's throat.

"All yours," Shetani said, and uncoiled when the warthog was dead. "Enjoy." Then she looked about, wondering where Jeff had gotten to. She had hoped to see him in the morning. When he hadn't come, she'd been very disappointed. But they had only just met. She really shouldn't expect too much.

"Thanks." He sat down and began eating. Glancing up, he noticed Shetani looking around. "Expecting someone?"

"Not expecting," Shetani said. "I met a lion lasst night. He ssseemed nicce. I wasss hoping to see him again. Have you seen him? He hass scars on his facce, and no eyelidss. Rather hideous, but he protected me and took me to sshelter."

Kulanni looked at her and growled. "Oh the bug eyed lion with the perverted grin? Yeah I met him, he attacked me earlier while I was stalking antelope. Completely ruined my hunt."

She yawned, as she lay down. She glanced at ben, he seemed to be thinking.. about something. ?
