Shani closed her eyes as her mother groomed her and she fell asleep.She saw images of a war begining to flood through her mid of the war to come.

A lot of time had passed and Aria found herself stood outside the cave she and Shani had found when they had to flee. Aria sighed sadly as pride members, new and old, wandered around together. Aria turned to look for Shani, she was going to go and search for Alex once more before she gave up all hope of finding her missing mate.

(that's fine  ) "Mum we will find him, he won't have you know...died he is tough."Shani said, now just become adolescent. She had grown a lot in the past year and known a lot of different lions, that had either moved on or died.She knew every lion here but it never felt like a real pride with out her father.Shani and her mother had been looking after this pride for nearly a year and it was getting even harder as Shani was getting alder. |

"Shani." Aria turned to her daughter. "Will you look after the Pride for me with Kiume until I return. I should be home by dawn tomorrow."
Kiume approached the pair, his mane ruffling in the morning breeze. "Shani is right sire, Alex is a strong lion. He's been missing for a while before."
"Never a year." Aria replied firmly, she turned to Shani and nuzzled her softly. "I love you, I'll be home soon." Aria promised, without another word she bounded off through the Pride and into the trees.

"By mum" Shani said trying not to burst into tears.
She looked up at kiume and forced a fake smile, trying to show that she was not upset.She did have slight feelings for kiume and he was only afew weeks younger than him and she was going to be an adult like him in just afew weeks.

"You won't" Kiume replied stepping closer to Shani, "Your mum is strong, she'll find your dad and they'll both be home in no time." He rubbed his chin against hers in a soothing manner, "Cheer up." He said softly.

Shani smiled feeling slightly better.She enjoyed being with kiume and her crush was getting bigger every minute.The amount of times she wanted to be able to read his thought sand see what he felt about her, them it would be so much easier.

"Come on, let's do a quick patrol." Kiume offered.
Meanwhile Aria would be a good distance away from Shani when she'd hear a twig snap and spin around to see a large male lion with a deep scar along his cheeks, if his eyes hadn't twinkled the way Alex's did she would have attacked. "Alex!" Aria exclaimed racing up to her mate.

Shani agreed walking along side kiume around the prides territory.She kept glabpncing up at kiume, looking away every time he looked back at her.She hoped she would see her father once again though.

Aria cried out when Alex staggered forward, quickly she began tending to his injuries, "What happened to you?"
"No furs." Alex replied weakly.
"We need to get you back to the pride, it'll take us until the sun is at the highest point in the air." Aria replied. Alex nodded and leant against Aria gently.

The wind blew in the direction of Shani and she could smell her father quite far away along with her mother but she knew they would worry so much if I went out to find them so she finnished her rounds with kiume.

"DAD!"Shani said as she saw him limp into the terratory.
She noticed he looked wounded and she quickly trotted over to him and began licking his wounds gentally.
"What happened dad?"Shani asked looking up at her father.
she must have looked so much more different from when he last saw her, and much bigger to.

Alex looked up and allowed a rough laugh to pass his lips. "You're not my little girl any more. You're a beautiful young lady." He smiled weakly before slumping to the ground, his injuries painful, "No furs happened, Shani was right that story told the future for us."

Shani giggled stil tending to her her fathers wounds.She could see kiume over in the distance.She wondered if had any familly and where they came from but she was more concerned about her fathers wounds.
"Dad lets get you into the cave"Shani said, trying to make her father feel better.

Another lioness slunk into the territory slowly, almost as if she didn't wish to be detected. a Large bird-like form hovered close by to her and landed.
The bird turned its head towards the cave which was at a great distance, but the creatures eyes allowed it to notice the lions there. The Lioness froze and stared at the cave desperately and cautiously.

Shani heard anouther lioness near by.She knew the lioness was not part of the pride and after helping her father into he cave she moved over to the new lioness.
"who are you"Shani said her teeth on show, growling.

The lioness sighed and hung her head as the lioness approached. The question was not new to her, as she travelled constantly through many lands,not because she was a rouge, but because she was searching for something.
She smiled genuinely at the lioness, "I am Naiief, and this is my bird companion Sembe. I mean no harm to you or your pride." she assured, not knowing the position of the lioness, her voice was somewhat deep and gentle, she had an air of respect about her, as if she was not one to cause strife.

Shani could see the stranger was not like any other of the lions in the pride, she had much darker fur and she had never seen a lion like this before.

"I am in search for something, but you would have no interest in it, I am sure." Naiief answered respectfully, "As it is concerned with a place to live. Being a pride member, you would not be worried with such things. I merely look for rouges and outcasts...." Her thoughts drifted away and her green eyes flashed with a spark of curiosity, "Could I bother you to spend a time in your pridelands? I will hunt for myself if you prefer it also." She requested lightly.
But her eyes held a little judgement, as if expecting the lioness to make some crude or snide remark. This underlying thought added the lightest edge to her voice. Biting her tongue Naiief looked away waiting for a reply.

Aria, noticing Shani a distance approached the pair and heard their discussion briefly. 'You can stay and our pride hunters will hunt for you, you can also hunt yourself if you wish.' The golden lioness raised her head. 'I'm Aria and this is my daughter Shani. My mate Alex has just returned also. Please, make yourself at home.' Aria replied.

"you are welcome to stay along as you want and you can eat with the pack, you can even join the pride if you want.But what are you looking for?"Shani said welcoming the new lioness into the pack.
She then lead the lioness into the prides terratory and guided her to a freshly caught animal.
"You can eat if you are hungry"Shani offered.

'I met my mother last night, just on the outskirts. She wants me to leave this pride and live in hers and father's. Apparently I'm betrothed too. I don't want to go though.' He explained. He eventually met her gaze with his, 'What should I do?'
