Shani rolled around trying to get comfy gigging a bit.

Alex remained relatively still whilst Shani got comfortable.

Shani finnally got comfortable closing her eyes slightly and smiling.

Aria smiled as she peered up at Shani, "Now you're stuck Alex." She teased.

"I'll manage." He replied before slowly stepping forward trying not to wake her. "Where did you find her anyway?" He asked, and with that Aria began telling Alex about how she came to adopt Shani.

Shani rolled over growling a little bit in her sleep, her teeth showing.

"Aww she's so sweet." Aria said in a whisper.

Shani awoke after hearing a loud sequel from an unknown animal, it defiant ally was not a lion, it almost sounded like laughing.She slipped off her fathers head and looked into the distance to see some dog like creatures coming towards us.

Aria heard the squeal and froze, Alex turned on the spot and watched as the pride began circling them, "Hyenas." Aria breathed.
"Take Shani and hide Aria." Alex commanded, Aria nodded and grabbed Shani by the scruff.

"What's wrong mama?"Shani said looking back at the things her parents call hyenas.She squirmed a little bit watching as the pride circled the hyenas.

"They're nasty animals." Aria said, she placed her down by a small den under the rock. "Stay here I'll be back." She said before going to help the pride.

Shani backed up into the rock, hearing foot steps coming closer even though she could here her mothers drifting away.She smelt the air and it was deffinatally the dog like creatures.She back further into the cave as she could see its face poke into the little den. Shani growled a little bit, but just a little bit to loud.She could the wolf like creatures face looking at her and snarled running out between its legs out into the savannah sprinting towards her parents, following their scent.She saw they where busy, so she climbed up onto a nearby ledge hiding in a gap in the rocks.

Aria swung around when a hyena hurried past her and went to where she'd hidden Shani, "Don't you dare!" Aria snarled racing after the hyena she dived at it and a fight broke out between the two animals.

"MAMA"Shani cried out,trying to tell her she was here.
She leaped down from the ledge running over to her mama, then sinking her teeth into the wolf like creatures leg.

Aria looked at Shani before biting the hyena's throat and killing it.

The little cub had developed a cut other back leg while the dog like creature was kicking at the pain.She whimpered a little bit, knowing she was in trouble along with the pain.

Aria dropped the hyena as if it were a ragdoll before turning to Shani, she noticed the cut but knew it wasn't safe to tend to it now. "Time to go." Aria said firmly. With a last look back at the battling pride and pack and a slightly more longing look at Alex who turned and smiled weakly at her before he was dived on by a hyena. Fighting back the urge to protect her mate, Aria grabbed Shani by the scruff and ran.

She looked back, she could see her father and cried out for him though she knew he could not hear her.She looked up at her mama not having any idea where they where going.

It was getting cold and dark when Aria finally stopped she spotted a gap in a large boulder that seemed to stand alone it was small but it would have to do.

Aria placed Shani down and started towards the makeshift den, 'This way.'

Shani limped, forward following her mother.She did not know where she was going only hoping it was somewhere safe

Aria settled in the cave, 'Let me see your leg.'

Shani showed her mother her wounded leg.It felt quite deep and very saw and she whimpered a little bit

Aria began tending to it, licking it gently.

Shani flinched at the pain and it began to ease after a while.Sge grinned at her mother, smelling her fathers scent getting closer.

Aria, sensing Alex too perked up and peered out of the cave, sure enough her mate appeared, limping badly but alive and well. "Alex!" Aria exclaimed running to her mate who nuzzled her in greeting.

Shani pushed up ontomer get limping to her father licking his wounds like her mother did to her, trying to help her father.She nuzzled against him, making a low affectionate sound.

Alex smiled weakly and nuzzled Shani a purr like sound passing his lips.

She grinned happily and sent back a purring sound her tail, wrapped around her back legs.

[Ruby_Fehu]

Alex picked Shani up and twisted so he could place her on his back. "We need to keep moving, Aria." He addressed his mate. "The hyena's are in more numbers than our pride, they're fighting them off and if they are successful they'll find us."

Aria nodded with a grimace and set off.

Shani settled on her fathers back, trying not to much to move, because she may out strain on her fathers wounded.
"where'are we going mama?"Shani said her heart pounding.
She did not want to leave, but she guessed she had no choice.

"I don't know." Aria admitted with a sigh.
