North America is a big no no from me . I admit i may not be in this role-play but i do like to keep things at least a tiny bit connected to Lion king/Africa setting, If we can keep at least the roleplays a tiny bit connected it will be that thing. After all we are already having super powers/technology/nuclear fallout in the mix, i want to at least keep something related to Africa, and that would be where the animals home was, be them from the wild or a zoo that the animals have broken free. We have always been lenient on which big cats we role-play so there is no problems there, but animals completely different species i do not like, however we can throw in a few as non player characters like if we had to fight/hunt one if you like.

Alright then, how about this We start in, say, Egypt? How about Kairo? It's a major city, so we'd get the cityscape setting and Africa location. But it is also close to the "border" of the African continent, so we'd soon be out onto Asia and the Middle East. After that we'd work our way through Europe and hopefully by then we'll have figured out a way to get across to Svalbard, haha... If we make Kairo our starting point, we'd mostly be going through eastern Europe (unless we want to take detours around the map). If we're not interested in deserts, which indeed aren't riveting settings, an alternative starting point would be Morocco where we'd, like Scotty said, figure out a way to cross by Gibraltar and be straight away into Western Europe. That way we'd skip out on a lot of the barren landscape. We could even begin the RP at the point where the group is about to cross from the African continent and onwards. Maybe they were escorted to that point by other survivors and were assembled at "base camp" there, but now at the "big water"/"border" they have to continue on their own. We would then spend absolutely minimal time in Africa, but it would still count as our starting point, and thus still be on-topic. I like that idea, especially if we're in Morocco, it makes the major concerns much simplier Though we could still have some characters coming from central Africa, so we'd have wild lions meeting previously captive ones, either in Morocco or on the other side of the Gibraltar sea. Some of us could even have a back story about coming all the way from America, UK, or wherever else, and perhaps provide tips about sea travelling (My jaguar character could come from Spain and could meet the ones coming from Africa after Gibraltar, for example) As for going through major cities, we have pretty much all Europe for that

Sounds great! I personally think it would be most logical to head across the Mediterranean. Most direct route, after all, and there are areas from both Africa and Mediterranean countries where you can actually see straight across the sea, and in the Gibraltar area they're practically touching. As for HOW we begin... Howsabout we start like this: Some time ago, the leaders of a several prides/groups came together to discuss the issue. Each decided to select "champions" of a sort to travel in a group to reach the seed bank that cheezee's character discovered, since although they have some doubts, it's the only chance they have. Each of our characters belong to a pride/group/whatever that chose them specifically for the task. Or they could be loners that are well-known for being strong/wise or whatever and were asked to join the group. Then we could begin with each of our characters meeting at a certain landmark and head off on their epic journey! Sound good?

I just made a new character for this RP ( Balam) I hope you like the sound of it, he's basically a jaguar with interest in old human technology He lives in Spain, but I wrote it assuming that the RP will start from Africa. I could do some changes to it if it's needed, hehe.

Scotty - I like your starting idea. It would be very succinct. Either that or we could go the whole hog and have the animals complaining that the prey animals are fairly ill, and have another lion come in and say what they need to do (probably my character, whose special ability is... hehe... reading). That would take longer to do, but may set up the characters.
Kanu: I like your idea of starting from the north of Africa. Egypt maybe, or wherever we can get across the mediterranean easiest.

I'll go with anything at this point. I'm currently planning for the group to "stumble" upon my character some time into the story, but so long as that's ok then I'm happy!
When do we start??

Hmm well, I think we have a pretty solid start point now. Maybe Scotty or Cheezee could start a new thread with the introduction to it, then we should start signing up our characters. I'm thinking that my character, Balam could be summoned by African lions to go to the council discussing the issue in Africa, and be judged to be selected as a party member of the champions due to his abilities with old human technology. Our party could go Barcelona as the next checkpoint from Gibraltar, and since Balam is from there, he could provide shelter and food before having to go farther

Sounds good to me, Leor! Gibraltar will definitely be the easiest way into Europe, so I say we go with that :3 Since we're a big group here, reckon we could poke Pulsar or TL about a board? That way we can have a couple of extra threads explaining the story/setting and our route progress for people who want to join in later :3 What is the RP gonna be called?

Cheezee- hmm, we could do that... but it would likely take quite a bit of time, since your character would need to be very convincing- since human letters are nothing more than scratchings to animals, it would take some time to convince them and convince them to call together this band of chosen ones. And I have no idea what most of the characters could do for the time that takes. Leor- sounds fine to me! Kanu- Sure, I think we could do with a board! As for the name.... Well. I'm terrible with names. >.> Anyone feel free to throw in your ideas! Everyone: I think now's the time to start up / flesh out your characters! Do the usual- everything needed by the board, make sure your character isn't overpowered, a maximum of three powers are allowed and a minimum of one is required- even if it's just the ability to jump really high or read. Mutations such as wings are permitted, but I can't remember if they count as a power or not...?

Nice one I can go with that. So have we decided that we meet/begin at the Strait of Gibraltar then? :3

Ok, so who's up for this RP then?
Leor Krissi Cheezegriff Kanu Scotty
Is that everyone so far? Five of you should be more then enough to start out the RP. Just post an acknowledgement here if you are definitely joining this RP. When we're clear on who is joining for sure, I'll go ahead and make the section for it.

Sorry about the long absence, guys- my laptop died and it only got fixed today. >.> Still, I'm back now.
So, yep! I'm definitely in the RP.
As for a short description, here's something I just made up here:
The land is dying.
Flora and fauna are vanishing as the land grows barren and desolate. Deserts grow as the forests shrink, animals dying out as their food becomes scarce.
A small band of chosen lions set out for their last hope- a seed bank, a reservoir where samples of hundreds of plant life are stored. The land has changed, and the animals have changed too. With their new and otherworldly powers, they will fight to survive and restore the balance of Nature.

Whoa, sorry for being so absent, guys! Work began and I've been so exhausted...
So, is everyone still ready/willing/able? And we've decided to begin with everyone meeting up on the tip of Gibraltar?

I'm still here willing and ready. But as far as I know, Krissi won't be able to be around for a while. And I don't know about Cheezeegriff.
As for starting from Gibraltar, that seems to be the case and the best option, so I say yeah ;D
