I know we had a game similar to this on the forum way back when.

It was basically as so:
Someone was "It" and this person got asked questions put forward by other members.

This allowed everyone to learn something about the person and to better get to know them. I thought it'd be a nice idea for the forum again so we can all get to know each other. You're question can be as random/etc as you want as long as it sticks to the rules.

So the rules are simple enough.

- People will be selected by volunteering. (I.e. if you want to have a go in the chair so people can ask you questions, just say so.)

- Questions asked to the person in the chair have to remain PG in content obviously.

- The person answering the questions has the right to not answer a question asked if they don't want to. (Some people might simply not want to answer certain questions.)

- It goes without saying that you shouldn't ask someone where they live, what their phone number is and any other personal information of that sort of nature.


As for how long a person gets to be "it" for. I was thinking maybe a week?
Since some people are busy etc, it gives plenty of time for question asking and question answering.

I'll go first, not only because I recommended the idea, but because I'm a mod and it'll help the members to get to know me better.

1. I actually have quite a few hobbies.
For one, I paint little miniature figurines called "Warhammer 40,000" You have to assemble and glue them then paint them yourself so it's a bit of a time consuming hobby.
I also draw, but my works are completely and utterly amateur when compared to the more skilled residents on the forum *cough*Kanu&Kirsui*cough*
I'm also taking up airsoft, once I get the cash together to get some gear. My cousins currently play it and I've been meaning to join in for a while now.
And, I guess if you consider it a hobby, I spend free time playing games =P

2. Well, I assume you mean do I have a favorite movie aside from the obvious liking of the TLK movies? =P
Outside of those... there's so many to choose from for various reasons.
Hmmmm.... I'd probably say "Halo Legends" It's actually a collection of short animations based in the halo franchise and since I am a Halo fan, well yeah XD

3. Yes! I do actually.
I'd love to someday be a very famous concept artist for game/movies, that or be an animator.
That's my realistic dream anyway =P

My unrealistic dream is to one day create an online entity (Something like Deviantart etc) which I will then use to unite all the internet and its various subcultures under one glorious banner! MUHAHAHAHAH!

4. My surroundings would be my room. Ok, so, I'm currently sitting in my bedroom. Imagine a rectangular shaped room, on either side (the shorter sides) are slanted down a bit. On one end build into/apart of the wall is a wooded construction of drawers and what not, on the left side of that is my TV, in the middle is where I sit with my laptop on a desk that slides out from the wooden construct. Behind that is my tablet. Along the longer wall to the right are wardrobes built into the wall, in the middle of these is a space that leads to a window. On the other long wall are two doors, one leading into a walk-in wardrobe and the other leading out onto the balcony of the floor. At the other end of the room along the short wall again is another wooden construct again built as part of the wall, this is much taller and far thinner in width from the wall then the other. My bed's back is up against this. Along that wooden construct are various bits an pieces, on the shelves on the left side are nothing but books and movie cases, on the right are some game collector's editions along with a few more books.

That's kind of a basic description, there's just far too much junk to describe without making this into an essay =P

5. I've been into the TLKGO fandom for quite some time. I got into it around 2001/2002 so I've been a fan for practically 1/2 my life span =P
I didn't really get involved in any way till I joined the Lea Halalela forum, when that was I can't remember. But I know that my account on The Lion King Fant Art Archive was from 2004 I think, and I had been a fan at least a year or two before that.
I still fondly remember when I first sort of realized how much of a fan I was of TLK.

1. Pulsar has been around for a long time, although he wasn't the first character I've every created. He's been around since about 2004 or there a bouts. I unfortunately never really noted the exact date but back then I never really considered his importance at the time so XD

2. The best kind of weather huh?
Well for me the best kind of weather is a rainy day with some thunder off in the distance. I have many fond memories of being in Orlando and the days when they had thunder storms in that humid and hot weather. Just something about being in the safety and comfort of say a hotel or shopping mall, while it rains etc outside.

5. I did two college courses, although both were only one year each. The first was a multimedia course which covered everything from flash, to photoshop, to video and sound editing. It was a very cool course, I was going to apply for the follow up course after it but sadly, there wasn't enough demand so the college never ran the course.

The second was a course in Animal Health Care.... Yes I'm aware of the stark difference between them =P
Back then one of my passions was wanting to be a vet, but after doing the course I found it wasn't for me.
I learned a lot about animals, I know a lot more about cats and dogs then I did before I went in and I don't mean general knowledge, I mean about being able to tell if they may be suffering from certain conditions and such. I also learned a fair bit of behavioral stuff too. The course covered a lot of different areas which was very cool.
I decided that it wasn't for me because well, while I loved helping sick and injured animals, I felt like I wanted to do something more, I guess if I was going to work with animals, It'd have to be something more along the lines of conservation work.

I'm hoping to go back, and maybe do something along the lines of what I said earlier to Leor about wanting to be a concept artist. But I feel between now and then I have a lot of work ahead of me XD

6. I used to, does that count? =P
I used to be able to play the keyboard way back when.
As of now though, no, I don't really play anything, though learning to play the piano is on my to do list for life.

What stuff would you do if you were a real lion living in Africa ? =D

It depends really.
If I was a lion in Africa, I'd imagine i'd do what a lion in Africa does =P

However, if I was a lion in Africa with my current level of human intelligence and knowledge, then that's a different story XD

I don't know how i'd play it out though, perhaps learn to speak english? communicate with humans, be like Aslan XD
But you know, talking lion, might attract a LOT of unwanted attention from the wrong kind of people....
I suppose though if you are one of a kind, then your chances of living might be good.

I've given it a fair bit of "what if?" thought but realistically (aside from it obviously never happening XD) it'd really depend on the situation I find myself in as to how I'd react etc.

1. How long have you been a fan of The Lion King?

TLK had been one of my favorite movies when I was a kid, I had toys and even sort of a TLK themed birthday party once. But the love I feel for TLK didn't really start until much later. I became a TLK fan officially around November 2006 (so when I was 20 years old)

2. Do you have any favorite parts in any of the movies?

I'll name my favorite parts in all 3 movies:
TLK: Mufasa teaching Simba about the circle of life and the kings of the past, Mufasa's Ghost scene, the confrontation with Scar, Simba's mighty roar as he claims back Pride Rock, and I love ALL of the songs.
TLK2: The Love Will Find a Way sequence.
TLK 1 1/2: Even though I dislike this movie, I quite like the parenthood scene xD

3. How did you come across TLKGO? =P

Hmm I think I've been hearing about it for quite a while from TL in another forum. I've been tempted to get into RPing to help me practice my writing, and one day while chatting with TL we got into talking about it. I got interested and asked him to link me to the site... and here I am xD

4. Do you have any hobbies or pastimes?

Yeap, I do. I like to draw whenever I have a good chance, go to cinema, play videogames, and read. I also like to write stories, but I usually find myself stuck in how to continue, and feel the need to redo it all over again. Hence why I'm here =P

5. When are you going to post your art! =P

1. You said you play computer games, care to list a few? =P

Actually, I don't play as much computer games as I play console ones, but on PC I like games like Portal 1 & 2 and the Mass Effect series. I like to play any genere, pretty much. Even though I enjoy the current generation's games, I consider myself a bit of a retro gamer (I pretty much abuse the virtual console on my Wii, hehe), I'm a big fan of the Legend of Zelda series, as well as some NES, SNES, and old computer games. I'm considering buying a PS3, though, since I feel I'm missing a lot from there =P

2. Why do you not like TLK 1 1/2?

I'll start by saying I didn't like the fact that our beloved TLK introduction with all animals bowing to the newborn prince was caused by Pumbaa's deadly fart -.- And the movie has way too much Timon and Pumbaa for it to be called The LION King. I know it's more like a spinoff and aimed for kids, but fans care much more about the lions, and lions barely had a part in it.

3. Out of all the TLK characters, do you have a favorite(s)? And if you do, why are they you're favorite?

Straight away, my favorite character is Mufasa, definitely. He's the kind of ruler I'd pay my loyalty to. He's also a great father figure that I would love to follow when my turn comes to become a father. Besides, James Earl Jones' voice is awesome!
Additionally, I like Scar too, he's one of my favorite villain characters, hehe.

4.The stories you right, have you ever finished any or currently have any that are currently being written up?

Unfortunately no, I haven't finished any of them -.- I think the one I've progressed the most was the one I mentioned in the "username origins" thread (The Last Son of Serslar), which I ended up abandoning a few years ago. I had first made a structure of how the chapters would connect with each other from the beginning to the end, and I got to write the prologue, a back story, and the first chapter. But for reasons I already mentioned, I didn't feel right continuing it.
As for right now, I'm writing a story that I'm basing on Aztec and Toltec legends and myths. It's about a little eaglet that gets lost in a Mexican rainforest, and an adult jaguar, contrary to his people's reputation, adopts her and raises her to develop her wings so she can go back to her eagle family. In this story, jaguars are believed to be despicable and ferocious beasts who live lonely lives and don't know love. According to an old Toltec myth, they were supposed to be the rulers of the Sun, but they lost that right to the eagles, and have since then been rivals. So for a jaguar to raise an eagle is a serious taboo that goes against the nature of their rivalry. That's pretty much the focus of my story, and I think I'm progressing pretty well. Even though I've had to start it all over again when I got stuck in parts that don't make sense xD

5. Are you enjoying your time on TLKGO so far?
As a matter of fact, yes, I am ;D

I think he's a danger to this world and should be locked and tied up in a Hannibal Lecter fashion, mask and all

2. What countries/places you have visited?

Hmm well, here in America I've just gone to the US's southern states, but during my stay in Europe, I've been in Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Norway, Spain, England, and Scotland.
For those who don't know, my girlfriend lives in England, so that's my main reason for going there. Visiting you and Kanu is a big plus too

3. Whats your favourite food

I love sushi, Chinese food, and a type of pizza they only make here.
Polish food is also great, I miss pierogi dumplings

4. Besides TLK, what other favourite films do you have ?

Blood Diamond, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, Saving Private Ryan, and a big list of etcetera that I can't recall right now xD

5. I like Tea because im British, do you like/do any Mexican stereotypical things?

Lol well, I like tacos and tequila (social drinking, of course xD). Also, I'm quite good at eating very hot/spicy food.

1. So how long have you been a fan of TLK?
Since 1994 I was completely enchanted by it when I first saw it in cinemas and I can't quite remember a time when I didn't love TLK. My love for it flared up again properly when I discovered the Internet/lionking.org, and subsequently TLKFAA, in late 2002 though. I'm going on 10 years as an active TLK community member, wohoo xP

2. What's your favorite character(s) and why?
From TLK, I assume? It's so hard to choose, because I honestly love the entire cast, from Banzai to Zazu. For the very top favourite spot though, it's a tie between Simba, Mufasa and Sarabi. Simba is the lovely hero =P And I love the character development he goes through. Mufasa is a wonderful, powerful, gentle king and Sarabi a beautiful, majestic, graceful queen.

3. Do you have any other hobbies/pastimes aside from your drawing?
Uuh... At the moment, I think no xD I used to do horseback riding, archery and playing the drums. I'd love to get back into all three of those, but there are too many practical obstacles right now...

4. What would your dream job be?
I think you know the answer to that one Animator, of course!

5. How would you feel if you heard that Disney were going to do some sort of TLK reboot or spin off and wanted to hire you as an animator for said project?
I'd jump straight at it, regardless of what the show/film would turn out to be about xD Work as an animator? For Disney? Heck yeah!

I've started on a lot of stories, but I've finished very few... xP If I've ever finished one, it was probably because it was a school assignment and thus had to be finished. Generally the stories I wrote would be very obviously copied from somewhere else... At one point I also intended to write a veery long TLK fanfic, but of course I lost interest... xP I wish I hadn't though, because reading the parts I did write is very amusing now, haha.

2. What do you like the most in the process of animation? or better said, what part would you like to play the most as an animator? (From storyboard to actual finished work).
Rough animation ^^ (Which, of course, is the actual animating stage of the process.) Clean-up is the most boring.

3. So becoming animator is your dream job. Do you have a second dream job after that? (maybe a third?)
Something within the media still, like television or film. I'm hopefully going to start studying graphic design this autumn, so work that requires that would do too xP

4. What movies/TVseries/books inspire you in your life other than TLK?
Ah, FullMetal Alchemist has my top favourite spot for any work of fiction I have ever come across (yes, even above TLK). The story and characters are amazingly written and it conveys such wonderful messages. Whenever I feel down, picking up an FMA volume to read will cheer me up straight away.

The Animals of Farthing Wood TV series has also been a huge influence for me over the years. And, of course, Disney's animated features in general xP

As for non-fiction, the stories that inspire me more than anything else are the ones about Elsa and Christian the lions and the man who returned them to the wild, George Adamson. It's... Just... There are no words for how much admire his work.

5. And finally, if you were in charge of the story development of a new TLK movie, what would you do it about?
Hmm... What a lot of people would like to see is a prequel to the first film about Mufasa and Scar, and if I was to lead another TLK film, I probably would make it just that. And then hire Savu0211 (dA-gallery link further down) to write it =P

The sad truth is still "no, not really." o.- I'm working on branching out in my spare time, but at the moment whenever I have the time to draw I have commissions to work on, and they are 9 times out of 10 of lion characters xP

Hehe, I probably would =P Then hand over the reins to my also-animator-to-be friend Will whom I have more faith in to lead a studio than me xD

We would be the 2D version of Pixar ;D Because Pixar is an amazing studio and we would totally want to be like them, but my friends and I prefer traditional animation. Our focus would be film-making, rather than, say, games and adverts.

Traditional all the way, as mentioned above =P That said though, CG is catching up and is getting to the point where it almost can look as appealing and "alive" as 2D animation.

Now that is a secret... =P

That one is from years ago now though... Over the years I have been a part of several ambitious projects over the internet, but so far none of them have actually seen completion... There was one I was very hopeful about, that my friend Will, whom I mentioned above, was leading, but we got turned down in our quest for the rights to the story *sigh* :/

8. What (if any) part of animation annoys you? =P
Clean-up (Making the lines of your drawings look nice and, well, clean) It is. so. boring. I haven't got much experience of 3D animation yet, but from what I've done so far, the most annoying thing is trying to stop the darn bones (of the rig) from moving when I don't want them to 8|

Oh, Don Bluth, Andreas Deja, Glen Keane Milt Kahl, James Baxter, Mark Henn, Ollie Johnston, Ruben Aquino, Tony Bancroft... The animator list can be made very long indeed xP Adam will also know how I nowadays actively read the credits in animated films and randomly shout out names when I see someone I like... xD

As an art novice still, there aren't many other "famous" artists I can list, but there are a good few on deviantArt whom I greatly admire:

Vixie87 - vixie87.deviantart.com/ Is probably one of my favourite artists. Everything she draws just looks so alive and appealing. Her artwork is what I want mine to look like.
Chris Sanders - alohalilo.deviantart.com/ Yes. It is actually him. He did the character design work on, most notably perhaps, Lilo & Stich and How To Train Your Dragon. He also did a lot of story work on TLK, including the Mufasa's Ghost scene!

2. Have you ever had a situation where someone has copied your art and just recoloured it etc then claimed it was their own, I hear that's a big thing on the likes of DA.
3. Do you have any annoying or over zealous fans, you know who like constantly talk to you and try to get your attention etc? No, TL doesn't count...
4. Being an avid fan of animation, have you ever watched older traditionally draw movies or cartoons, and analysed it? Like see if they reuse the same animations and such?
5. What would you do if animation became extinct, like you woke up tomorrow and everyone hated 2D stuff and no one made it anymore.
6. You mentioned earlier that you did write some stuff, have you even thought about doing a comic series? Be it a TLK based one or an original concept?

Whoops, I missed these!

In general I do need something to "spur me on" when it comes to animation, because I otherwise easily grow impatient and lose interest it seems o.- So in terms of getting things done it's definitely better for me to work with other people xP It lets you swap ideas and critique as well, which is very good too.

I haven't had any recolours as such that I know of, but there has been a few cases of people taking my art and reuploading it as their own. Twice they've erased/cropped out my signature and written their own on top. Oh, and there was that eBay case recently where someone was selling a printed cake topper thingy of the Lea Halalela forum collab we did for TLK's 15th anniversary. But TL sent them a message and the item got taken off, yay xP

Generally I'm not too concerned with these sort of things though. If people take my TLK fan art I don't really care, unless they're claiming they made it or are making money off it. It's a little more personal when/if they take my own original characters, but generally I don't draw them in TLK style any more, so they're less attractive to little 'thieves' looking for characters to roleplay on foreign forums xP

TL hardly ever looks at my art, so he wouldn't count anyway, haha! =P And no, I don't, really. I've had a few cases of those annoying "Hi I'm a complete stranger, draw my character plz?" but they usually give it up when I tell them they'd have to pay me for it =P

All the time =P I watch animated films just as much, if not more, for the animation as I do the story nowadays xD

I would be very, very sad indeed, but not really that surprised. I'd probably rethink my wish of getting into the animation industry and try and go for something else too.

Yup, many times. But, like with question 1, often it'll take a group to keep me interested in major projects like that. A couple of years ago I was really serious about putting together a story based on a trio of characters I have, but again I wasn't happy with the story that came out of it and gave up.

1. Hey TL, what is the best roleplay you've ever been involved in and what made it so special?
I really cant decide, its either between adolescent ages or New world, New world was the first roleplay ever created on tlkgo so it holds alot of sentimental value, and how big and gripping the story turned out to be was just so awsome, i really liked adolescnet ages because it was just such a nice mix of different characters, species, original, canon - and it just worked so nicely and again the story was just epic =3.

We were cuddling after such a great day out and the moment just felt so right, it just hit me that this particular moment just felt the best. I had been thinking about it for a long time and it just happened ^^, I asked her just there and then ^^. Not what you would normally expect but of you know anything about me, its that i do things the way that i feel is right and not what you see stereotypically :P
4. If you could choose to be in any fantasy world that ever existed, which would you choose and why?
Skyrim :D Run around, save people, ride horses, make awsome armor, kill evil things, look epic in some deadric armor, fly on that one dragon that is your friend, see awsome scenery and landscape. Oh yes, thats the life :P

I just thought I'd clear this one for you. Rolling your R's means that you can pronounce the "R" by vibrating your tongue against your palate. Many English speakers can't do it, since it's not really needed in the English language (I have fun with Tara with this, it's veeery used in Spanish xD).
If you can't do it and for some reason you feel like mastering it, here's a silly tutorial for ya =P
