Right everyone, The missing hasn't replied to my email So from today, everyone just continue to role-play as if he isn't there, after another 2 days i will open the slot for another member to join in ( i believe Krissi's friend wanted to join). Luckily Missing's character hasn't actually been sighted so its easier to move on

So I'm going to see what I can do to move this RP forwards a bit, meaning there might be a lot said and a bit of assuming going on on my part, but no god-modding. Anyway let's see how we go...

Well that was a failure. I feel like I just wasted my post.

I've deleted most of it and posted an amended version, so I'm not talking to myself. Of course it means the RP doesn't move forward as much.

Do any of you really want to roleplay? It seems like as soon as I've come along people have stopped posting. And when they do post, they fall asleep and refuse to wake up, so I can't talk to them anyway. Is it just me or was that post of mine so bad it couldn't be taken into account, or what? . What should I do differently?

We do like to RP Krissi, you have to understand though that it's not the only thing most of us do with our free time.

That and you shouldn't take posts so personally, just because someone else's character does something doesn't necessarily mean other people's character's have to acknowledge said event so obviously. A scavenger bird in this case, swooping down to steal a meal, it may be noticed, my character and Tl's both noted it, but you have to think from the characters point of view, not as an RPer, think about the world they are in, buzzards stealing food would be a common enough sight with food being as scarce as it is. Your vulture character didn't exactly do anything out of the ordinary, aside from his recent attack on one of the characters, so his actions before that might have simply been shrugged off, does that make more sense?

Krissi, none of the posts, yours or TL's were bad or anything, at least I don't think so.

We just solved the 'The Missing' situation recently, so the roleplay will definitely continue, but you need to be patient with other current players. Even people that are commited to the roleplay can have busy lives, and as Pulsar put it, it's not the only thing we do in our free time either. I for example am in the final period of my semester at college, so work is very demanding for me (I still can contribute with something during the weekend, at least).

As for what has been happening in the roleplay, I don't think it's correct to put pressure on how you want other players to react. Stealing the scrap of meat makes good sense and it was a nice move, but Sheek is exhausted and very weak right now, why demand attention from him to the point of physically attacking him? (And why does Bowfly want attention from the lion characters, anyway? what's the explanation behind that?)

I'm not trying to sound mean, and I'm sorry if it comes across as that. I only ask you to be patient with us, to not put pressure in how another character should react, and like Pulsar said, to see the events in the roleplay from the characters' perspective.

Words have been taken right out of my mouth =P. Please Don't think we are getting on at you Krissi, we want you to roleplay, just that things are at a slower pace here. I myself leave the house to work at 7.40am and don't get back until 6.30pm this happens 6-7 days a week, last time I had a day off was 13 days ago so it can be tiring, I also have dedications elsewhere too. TLKGO is very dear to me,that's why it got re-opened after all , I want to roleplay and so does everyone else ^^

As mentioned, Missing gone...missing xp And me not picking up the thing about the meat being stolen was my fault and im sorry, but the events after that is just sheek being sheek =p

Im sure Milcah and Blowfly will settle in nicley, just need to let time flow. ^^

Yeah, the others are right.

But I know how you feel, Krissi, about wanting to get past the general introduction stage; it is a very tedious and boring part xP (Which, I think, is one reason why this RP is currently going at slow motion speed. When things start to pick up a bit people tend to be more inclined to post as well.) But it takes the time it takes and in a couple of posts or so things should get going.

If this one is taking too long for you, you could always join or start up a new thread in the RP Lobby and see if people want to join in there, as those RPs seem to be moving along a bit quicker xD Just don't feel discouraged

Anyway, I didn't post above because of the lack of posts. I posted because I MADE a post that assumed TL would wake up when Blowfly threw meat at his face, then spent half an hour making sure the rest of it was good. But TL told me in chat he didn't wake up so I had to delete it. I just thought for the sake of moving the RP forwards (and because I thought maybe we were friends) that he would accomodate me. So yeah... I'm feeling a bit hurt.

Krissi, don't you think you're taking this a little too seriously? TL isn't being mean with you or anything, he's just playing his character the way he intends him to be.
The truth, as hard as it sounds, is that the roleplay doesn't have to adapt to your needs, it's you who has to adapt to the roleplay. If another player doesn't react in the way you wanted to, the worst thing to do is to keep forcing him to do so (attention seekers aren't exactly cool, btw)

If you read TL's post up there, he actually apologized with you and wished you a nice time roleplaying with your characters. He is being nice with you, as well as we all are. I'm sure that whatever you talked on the Livechat, he didn't mean it in a hurtful way (maybe he was just joking with you and you took it the wrong way?), he's not like that and you really don't need to feel hurt, I assure you that.

By the way, none of us said you spent all your free time in TLKGO, if you read well. We said that we, the rest of us, didn't. I'm a dentist, and I have to both see patients and do theorical tests during these next weeks. So I'll definitely be slow during those, but soon when I'm done with that, and the roleplay advances more, it'll go more fluently.

I still wish you see everyone else's point about this situation and you can make paces with TL. Just be more patient, adapt to how the roleplay is, and have fun.

I just wanted to apologise for being argumentative recently. I've been quite hurt by a lot of what was said on this thread. I realise your intention wasn't to hurt me, but it hurt anyway. But next time I'll handle it differently.

If anyone wants me to change my recent posts, please tell me.
I don't mind adapting my posts to suit other RPers. I figure that's why I didn't think it was such a big thing to ask of someone else... but anyway that's enough and now I'll just be quiet.

I'm sorry if you feel hurt or upset about the whole thing Krissi.
It was never our intention to make you so.

We were just trying to explain how we RP'd which might be different then what you are used to.
I know at least for myself (because I can't vouch for the others) that when I RP, I give a reply that suits the character, the current situation and how he/she currently feels.
For example, a vulture stealing food, isn't exactly an out of the ordinary sight in Africa, something in fact that lions might be used to, as such in an RP my character might have noted it happening and in some way have acknowledged it (maybe he shouted at the vulture as it flew away or something) but he wouldn't turn his attention onto something like that. As it was with this RP, yes, you did steal the food and the character's noticed, maybe they didn't react as you might have hoped, but that's the way we RP, we don't reply to each other with the overall intent of advancing the story or plot, it's more a case of, we look at what happened and then judge how the character might react in that situation and then post the result, the story advancing because of this is simply an outcome of that.

You also have to remember that in that RP, a lion had been detected that was spying on the group. Granted, that Missing is no longer here and thus his character is gone, but our characters still have to acknowledge that there was a lion there (maybe he ran away when they went looking for him).
I don't know about you, but if I was in Pulsar's situation and I had detected a lion of unknown friend or for statues, was hiding nearby, my attention and concern would be on that, not on some scavenger that managed to steal a meal which the character wasn't hungry enough to care about, does that make more sense?

As for why TL's character fell asleep, earlier in the RP, it had been noted that he had singlehandedly fought a pack of hyenas for the food he had gotten, not only that but he had run for several miles to escape their persuit add to that still is the fact that his character had been hungry. All those things would make one very exhausted to the point where staying awake might be an impossible task, after all, people have fallen asleep from sheer exhaustion. That post was based on his characters current physical condition at the time, he made a realistic reply based on that. I'm sure had the character been through less then maybe he might have had the energy to contest the bird stealing the food.
Not only that but you have to remember that his character had also finished eating, so it would be reasonable to assume that he would have less/no interest in the meat any more or any effort required (yet again) to get it back.

I hope I helped clear things up a bit for you.
Again, we never meant to make you upset or hurt, we were just trying to explain why we replied in the RP as we did.


As for what Leor said, we aren't saying you do nothing else but be on TLKGO, we were stating that we ourselves are busy.
TL works nearly every day and does be tired afterward.
I believe Kanu spends a lot of her time working on an art portfolio.
Leor already mentioned why he isn't posting much.
As for me, I do have the free time, and I am always checking TLKGO, I just don't log in sometimes unless there's a reply I can make or something I need to do =P
That and the start of an RP is always slow since the characters all have to be introduced and get to know each other, it's isn't enough for them to stumble upon each other and then rather abruptly decide they should travel together. =P

I'm sorry if the forum is too slow for your tastes, it's unfortunately how it is. As TL said though, if you want a faster RP, you should join one of the free/open ones, those seem to move at a much quicker pace.

Ok: despite my better judgement I'm going to post one more time here, because I haven't explained myself very well and I think I've given everyone the wrong idea - nobody seems to understand anyway. And it's my fault, so I'm going to patch this up now. Please read this carefully:

If it was just a matter of Sheek not paying attention to Blowfly stealing the meat then that would be fine. But I made a biiiiig long post when none of you were here where 1) Blowfly threw the piece of meat BACK at Sheek's face to wake him up. Then 2) Blowfly spoke to Sheek, made a suggestion and flew off to Milcah. I was very happy with the post. Ecstatic, actually. I finally introduced Milcah!

But, in chat, TL told me that Sheek didn't wake up when Blowfly threw the meat at him. So in other words half my post was USELESS. So I had to go and delete the majority of the post and go peck his nose instead. THAT's why I'm upset. I thought I'd done a teriffic job of progressing the roleplay but had to go and change it.

I know why sheek fell asleep. I know the other lions are inspecting a noise. I READ the entire roleplay beforehand very carefully. Don't think there's anything I misunderstood because I understood it well enough to know WHY Sheek fell asleep. My mistake was assuming TL would allow Sheek to wake up if I threw the meat at Sheek's face, and then spending precious time and energy writing a post about it. It was upsetting to delete it because contrary to popular belief MY time is as valuable and limited as anyone else's (and it hurts to hear you all suggesting otherwise).

Let me summarise it for everyone else or anyone who doesn't get it yet.
This was a big misunderstanding from both parties, simple as that.
