General Rules
*These rules apply to the entire forum, all boards, sub-boards and all threads.*
1. No bad language.
2. No double posting, unless you think it’s needed (examples like you are writing in the “Fanfic” section to continue your story. Or you may be updating a project you are working on. Or posting a new peice of art and you were still the last person to post. Stuff like that. I trust your own judgement ^^)
3. Respect other members, treat them as you would like them to treat you.
4. Before you make a thread to discuss a topic, use the search to see if a thread about that topic already exists.
5. Signatures may contain an image but this image can be no bigger then 500 x 200 pixels, signatures may also contain text with the picture.
(Note: The signature becomes scrollable when too much text/picture is added).
6. No Chat speak such as: fing, ppl, cya, nvm, wtevr, etc.
Please use correct spellings. This is because for some members,English is not their first language so they may have trouble reading posts that contain "slang"/abbreviations.
7. Changing your forum name is allowed BUT not recommended as it can cause confusion. If you change your name, please notify a member of staff so that they know.
8. Please, No Spamming. Anything considered spam will be removed by a member of the staff.
9. Do not use copyrighted material (e.g. Artwork) in your avatar or signature unless it is your own or you have got written permission from the owner. Staff members may request that you show proof of ownership of said art or proof of permission.
Role Play Rules
*These rules apply to all role-plays on the forum.*
*The only exceptions are rules highlighted in "Blue" that do not apply to the Freestyle Role-play Lobby.*
*The only exceptions are rules highlighted in "Blue" that do not apply to the Freestyle Role-play Lobby.*
1. Each role-play has a maximum number of total characters that are allowed to participate, this is decided by the role-play leader, who is the member who created the role-play.
2. The maximum amount of characters each member can use in each role-play is 2.
(Note: Some role-plays also have NPC "Non-Player Characters" these characters can be used/controlled by anyone participating in the role-play. They often only serve the purpose of giving more life to the role-play, to make it feel like there are more characters there then just the ones being used by the role-players themselves. For more information on NPC use, see the "NPC (Non-Player Character) Rules" section bellow).
3. We aim to have a minimum of 1 to 2 lines of text per role-play post, if you are really struggling, exceptions can be made.
4. Please try to wait for other role-players in the same role-play as you. If you post more than once, it is recommended that you post no more than 2-3 times then give enough time so everyone else can post at least once to something you have posted. This allows all members of the same role-play to keep up with each other.
In other words, please do not go making 20 posts between you and one other member in the role-play, leaving everyone else to play catch up.
5. Switching/Killing off characters in a role-play is allowed, but please try not to do it all the time.
6. No sexual posts. Flirting, kissing, etc, are allowed however.
(Note: Posts considered "Adult" in nature are not allowed).
7. Posts with detailed violence are allowed though we ask that you be considerate to those you are role-playing with as some people may not like excessively detailed violence.
8. The only animals allowed are those native to Africa (e.g. Zebra, Lion, Cheetah, Hyena, Giraffe, etc) as well as other species of "big cat" (e.g. Tiger, Cougar, etc).
a - All other Non-African animals are not allowed.
b - Humans and Anthropomorphic characters are not allowed.
9. Hybrid characters should not contain non-African animal heritage in either half of their hybrid structure. (I.e. A character is not allowed be Lion/Wolf, etc.)
Both sides of the hybrid breed should be African based animals or one of the other allowed "big cat" species.
10. When looking to join a structured role-play such as those under the Original Style Role-plays and Fantasy/Sci-Fi Style Role-plays sections, you must first post in the related role-play's "Sign-up" thread and then wait to be accepted into the role-play by it's creator before you should post in the main role-play itself.
11. "God Modding" is not allowed. "God Modding" is in essence when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. An example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other Role-players try. "God Modding" also refers to the act of inflicting things upon another Role-player's character without their permission, (e.g. Role-player-A has his character break the arm of Role-player-B's character, in essence, controlling what happens to Role-player-B's character). The exception to this is the other member has given their permission.
NPC (Non-Player Character) Rules
*These rules apply to all NPC type characters in all role-plays on the forum.*
6. If an NPC is based off one of the The Lion King characters e.g. Simba, role-players should role-play the character with a personality similar to what is already established for the character in canon. An exception can be made, if for the purpose of the story a canon character must have a different personality to what their canon version is, but this alteration should be noted and told to all other role-players so that everyone is aware of the fact.*These rules apply to all NPC type characters in all role-plays on the forum.*
1. Each post should be made from your characters perspective.
2. In any given situation, a post containing an NPC should also contain one of the role-player's characters.
3. The NPC should be used to help enrich the post or in order to advance the plot of the story.
4. In certain scenarios, NPCs can be used without the presence of a role-play character nearby, but this should only be done if there are grounds for as to why a group of NPC characters would meet and conduct actions amongst themselves. If possible, the role-player should also include a segment in the post, of their own character's actions during that time.
5. No single role-player should extensively use the NPCs for several posts at a time

7. By default, all NPC characters are to be considered immortal. That means that no single role-player may use their post to kill off an NPC character. The exception to this rule is that if the majority of the role-players who are participating decide (via majority vote) that any specific NPCs or that all NPCs are killable by any member.
Notes
If you are Banned from the forum, you are banned through computer I.P identification, so if anyone else in your house is on TLKGO, they are banned to. It's the only way.
- Due to certain roleplay plots, exceptions can be made to roleplays concerning the "2 Characters per member per roleplay" rule. If you want to make/change a roleplay that you feel would benefit from this exception, please speak to either This Land or Pulsar.
All Rules can be discussed via "Private Message" with the Administrator.
If you have any questions please feel free to "Personal Message" one of the staff members.
