((OOC: With the permission from Kanu, I start this role play.))
Rain fell. There were no other sounds than the sound of droplets hitting various objects... There were some hitting the grass, some that hit stone and ground, some that hit the leaves ofthe nearby trees, some that fell into puddles and created a splashing sound... It was like music, and Xoren loved it.
The graceful white lioness had not sought shelter like most creatures would. She walked in the wet grass, gracefully stepping over mud puddles so that her shining white fur would not get dirty. She enjoyed the calmness, and cherished the feeling of droplets hitting her. Her hair was soaked and glued to her skin, but she did not mind. The rain made her feel young and refreshed, just like she knew the nature would be once the rain would stop. And she believed that like the day would become beautiful after rain, she too would.
There was another reason why Xoren loved the rain so much. She believed the rain cleansed her, rid her off the scent of blood that invided her senses even after the red had left her perfectly white fur. She had served Mashuuja during the time of war, and she had served them well. Her claws had shed blood, and the enemies of her pride had fallen before her.
Quickly the lioness pushed the thoughts of war aside. The war was over now, and the remaining of the Isiziba would be wise to hide - or even wiser if they left.
The war was over, and her duties to her pride as one of the front line warriors were over. However, she had other duties...
Xoren smiled faintly, scanning the area. The rain made things perfect. She was certain she was alone, and that no one would come to disturb her.
There was another being out there who loved the rain. But she did not walk around.
Tefnut laid in the tree, her eyes half closed and ears keenly listening to the music the rain was creating with the tree. She called these sounds the trees created their song, and the song of rain was certainly one of her top favourites.
It might have looked like the young liopardess didn't pay attention to her surroundings at all, but truth was quite different. Her eyes might have been half closed, but they kept a keen eye on the area. She might have been listening to the song of rain, but her ears were still alert in case of suspecting noises.
She was very alert, and she had a good reason to be so. She was an Isiziba, and though she had objected the war, she had still had to fight with her pride in order to survive. And thus she was classed as one of the enemies, as one of the loosers of this war...
Tef was used to being rejected by others. She had been rejected by others all her life. She was a half breed, an abomination... She should not even exist.
But she did, and she enjoyed life as much as she could. This new type of rjection was nothing new to her. She would be careful like she always had been, and she was sure she would survive. She was more worried of some other members of her pride, and how they would take their new position as the rejected ones.

Sheek aimlessly wondered around the wet lands. He wasn't going anywhere in particular at this time, he didn't really care, his mind was in deep thought. Worry about pride members he belongs to that he hasn't seen yet, also worry about enemy pride members, in which he would fear to come into contact with at the moment, he was exhausted.
The wounds he had suffered were now clearing up nicely, and almost gone, almost a sign that this horrible war will soon be forgotten and life to carry on, but at the same time, himself and the pride he was with, was now a forgotten group in these lands. Sheek has no idea what he wants to do with himself, he doesn't know where to go and what steps to now take to make his future a better place to live in. Is there anything at all ? By the mess he was in, he had started to give up on hope...
Sheek at this time didn't look like himself, he was dangerously thin and his coat didn't look healthy. He had barley eaten for ages, he lived off any scraps he could find which was minimal. Since the end of the battle, it was impossible for him to hunt, every time he picked up speed for a kill, he always lost his footing and would stumble over himself, but he could walk fine, only thing that bothered him was a slight twinge in his paw, this would progress to become a great pain sensation when running.
Sheek's stomach was so desperate for food it felt like it was turning inside out. As Sheek opened his eyes, recovering from the short stabbing pain from his Stomach, his eyes pinpointed to a small stray Gazelle in the distance just another little distance away from a tree, a great place to eat it. Sheek never given up trying to hunt, so without hesitation he decided to go for it. He trotted towards his prey, diverting through random bushes to try and not show himself, Luck was on his side as the gazelle was facing away from him and the wind was against him. Sheek was now in striking distance, he came out of his cover and sprinted towards the gazelle, it spotted him and ran for it aswell, the pain in his paw started to rise of course but he was so close to catching it, it was all or nothing now, he done one final leap, but as he tried to leap, his paw buckled underneath his leg, which caused a loud roar and a pathetic leap in which he turned half way in the air and landed flat on his side. The gazelle got away
Sheek Growled under his breath and took a few deep breaths and waited for a bit until the pain gotten smaller, he then got back up and started to walk again, refraining from limping and just taking in the pain, he couldn't show any weakness around here, but he now needed to rest in some shelter. He went over to the tree and slumped down, still growling under his breath after another failed kill. he curled up slightly and partially closed his eyes. Still keeping an eye and ear of the rain hitting the ground, a great stress relief. He Stomach also decided to contribute to the sounds around him, one thing he didn't enjoy.

A snap of a twig, the disturbance in the sound of how the water hit the grass, and the echo of a roar were what fully awoke Tefnut from her relaxed stance. Her eyes opened, and she gazed down from her tree with a slight frown to see who had disturbed her peace.
The following events happened so fast she had no time to think what she was doing. She saw a very skinny male lion attempt to chase a lone gazelle. Her mind told her the lion was familiar, but her eyes glued to the fleeing prey when she realized the lion would not be able to catch it. She rose to a crouched position on her branch, extending her claws and digging them into the tree bark. Her tail curled ever so slightly to balance her on the branch as she prepared for a leap.
The gazelle never saw her coming. The prey had made a critical mistake of running too close to Tefnut's tree, and she only had to do a small leap and fall on top of the gazelle. The creature died instantly as its neck broke, and Tef was glad she didn't need to waste her time suffocating it while there was a lion closeby.
The liopardess, still standing on a crouched position on top of the dead gazelle, turned to search for the lion. To her surprise he had made his way under her tree for shelter, and now that he was close by she could easily make out his features.
To her surprise, she actually knew this lion. "Weren't you supposed to be good at hunting, Sheek?" Her eyes sparkled faintly in amusement and she finally slid down to the ground. Swiftly she took a hold of the gazelle's neck and dragged it under the tree. There she let go and sighed faintly, turning to look at the other feline. "Strange how much one can change in such a short time..."
She flattened her ears momentarily. She herself hadn't changed much since the last time they had met. She had always been able to survive... even if it meant eating insects and other things that others usually found disgusting.
Pushing these thoughts aside, Tefnut smiled. "It's good to see you again, brother", she said.

OOC: Sorry it's a bit... long xD
IC: Cleansing rain... Never before had the term been more accurate. It would wash away the blood, tears and all the earth's scars from the battles, and make this land new again. It was still an odd feeling, waking up to silence. The old lion rose to his feet and stretched out his front legs and back. He shook his head, letting the long black hair fall back into place, and looked around him. Even though it was at least a whole month since the war had officially ended and the final battle had ceased, Sumai still woke every morning expecting to be summoned to fight for his land. His pride, Lumatha, hadn't actively fought nearly as long as the other two, Mashujaa and Isiziba, had but he had still seen his fair share of the war... and lost many comrades. Darn those Isiziba characters. If they had just given up when they could obviously see they were outnumbered, so many of the old officer's friends and comrades would still be here! But how ferociously they had fought, even when facing such a superior enemy...
Sumai had been stationed at the bloodiest front and had also fought with the front lines nearly every day. He had slain many an enemy, but had also had his share of injuries and loss. All over his back and legs were claw- and bitemarks and many of them would surely leave white scars. Eternal memories of what had been... He sighed. "More for the collection..." he muttered. After this war, the old lion was glad he was an experienced warrior. Many young soldiers had been traumatized to the point where he couldn't tell if they'd ever be sane again and he had seen many promising young lads lose paws, eyes or ears - crippling them forever. And the so many plucky ones that had arrived in high spirits, courageous and eager to fight, had left with empty hopelessness in their eyes. Young ones with the eyes of murderers... War was a cruel, cruel thing. But it couldn't be helped when there was no other way of deterring an enemy. Sumai himself had been given a particularly nasty cut down his side, which on occasion made breathing painful, but otherwise he had managed remarkably well and would probably not suffer any severe permanent damage.
The armies were now scattered once again - spread out over the massive area that made up the Mashujaa-Lumatha territory. Isiziba did no longer exist. According to the authorities anyhow... Sumai snorted to himself. What a silly idea. But thanks to the war, Lumatha's relatively small territory had now expanded by a substantial bit. Always something... Sumai himself had lingered at what had once been the battlefield longer than most others. He didn't really have a family to return to; his mate had died many seasons ago and he had no children or other relatives... His officers and subordinates had been eager to return home after the dreadful work with burying the dead and transporting away the wounded was done and, sure, Sumai saw no wrong with this. But it did get lonely, especially with so many of his friends gone... So to keep his attention away from that painful feeling of emptiness and the memories of his friends, the old lion had spent much of his time since the end of the war organizing the remaining troops' work. But by now they had all gone back home, save for the odd few.
A few days ago Sumai had finally left camp and decided to, instead of going home, survey some of the new territory that his pride now possessed. It felt very strange to cross the invisible border that had marked the front line and step into what once had been enemy territory. Stranger yet that this territory now belonged to him. The land was eerily empty and offered too much time for thought. It was a vast open space, save for a few trees and bushes here and there... Even though this was the treasured rainy season, the area seemed grey and dull. There was nothing to celebrate this year for the former inhabitants of this land. So far Sumai hadn't come across any Isizibas and for this he was glad. He would have a hard time not striking them down if he saw one...

Sheek Suddenly perked his head up when he suddenly heard something. He didn't have time to think to see who it was, he quickly bared his claws and Stumbled up, letting a slight whimper escape his throat as he accidentally got up on his bad paw. He sharpened his vision on the animal, but immediately sheathed his claws as he seen who it was. he sighed in great relief and sat down casually. "Weren't you supposed to be good at hunting, Sheek?" "Strange how much one can change in such a short time..." Sheek Smiled faintly, he was glad that he had finally bumped into a friendly face, well family face for that matter "Its strange how much one can change after a battle" he replied in a friendly defence "Hopefully such changes are not permanent" he chuckled Sheek brushed his muzzle against Tef "Its good to see you too, my sister" Sheek stared out over across the lands "I was scared the remains of our pride were scattered forever" Sheek then looked back at Tefnut "I'm glad you found me, or glad i found you" Sheek stood up and had a good look at Tefnut, making sure she didn't have any wounds or cuts "How are you ? are you hurt ? do you feel alright?" sheek said curiously He couldn't help doing this, but it was part of his nature, he knew Tefnut could fend for herself, but it didn't stop him worrying. Sheek also stared momentarily at the fresh meat right by Tefnut, he was very tempted to grab and eat it straight away based on how hungry he was, but he controlled himself. Sheek looked back up at Tefnut "Nice Kill, you haven't lost that touch" he smiled Sheek sat back down and sighed "I wasn't so lucky with that thing, or for anything for that matter" Sheek started licking his paw to try and draw his attention away from the lovely fresh kill in front of him, he didn't want to do anything to it unless he was invited to.

She had found a perfect spot. There was a tiny waterhole, so tiny infact that it wasn't a proper waterhole at all but a small pond instead. The grass was lush and green, and she could see to all directions without trouble.
It was there where she had sat for a while now, her right front paw lifted to her eye level and turned so that the pawpad was pointing towards the sky. Her once freshly white fur was tainted red.
The lioness did not complain. In fact, she had closed her eyes and raised her face towards the sky, muttering something very silently.
She took a shaky breath and opened her eyes completely. She lowered her paw and examined her work. Her pitch black pawpad had fresh cuts. She smiled in satisfaction, the cuts were clean and had stopped bleeding now. She lowered her paw completely and soaked it in the water, washing away as much of the blood on her white fur as she could. She would get enough curious looks anyway, she would not need more due to a bloodied paw.
Xoren's ear twitched and swiftly she turned her gaze from the water to her surroundings. She scanned the area carefully, for she was certain she had heard...
Ah, she had been right. The lioness rose to her feet gracefully, turning to gaze at the one who she thought to be an intruder. She frowned. This stranger was certainly the oddest creature she had ever seen. She knew for sure it was some sort of a feline, but the pointy ears added to the feline's size and strange tufts of hair certainly confused her of the species.
Xoren was quite certain that the stranger had not yet noticed her, but she was certain he soon would. Her white fur did stand out quite well, no matter the time of day or weather.
For a moment the white lioness wondered whether she should just wait for the feline to notice her or speak out first. She wasn't certain if this... feline belonged to a pride, and if he did which one of the prides it would be. She could stand anoter Mashuuja, or even a Lumatha member, but if it was an Isiziba...
No, that just would not do. So she stood as tall as she could, summoning forth every drop of her high status, and spoke. "Halt", she said with a calm, yet commanding tone. "Zpeak, who walkz on the Mazhuuja and Lumatha territory? Tell me who do you ztand with, and who did you ztand againzt."
"How are you ? are you hurt ? do you feel alright?"
Tefnut laughed slightly. "I'm all right. I know how to survive alone, you know. It's in my blood." Her laughter disappeared and she turned serious again. "You are a different matter though." She poked Sheek's nose with a paw gently. "You need food, brother dear. My kill might have been nice, but it will do no good if it will be left there to rot." She grinned faintly, pushing Sheek's paw away so that he could not lick it. "Since I am not hungry right now, and I did notice you eyeing at the gazelle just a moment ago..." She paused and smiled. "Don't even try to deny it, brother. I know you too well. Just take a bite, or a few, or as many as you want."

Deep in thought, Sumai hadn't noticed the bright white figure ahead until it was too late to avoid her. She approached him and stood proud in from of him, showing no sign of fear or shame. He was still taller than her however and would with ease, he assumed, overpower her if she tried anything funny. Naturally, he wasn't allowed to attack Isiziba members any more, but what the authorities can't see they can't moan over...
"Halt", the white lioness said. "Zpeak, who walkz on the Mazhuuja and Lumatha territory? Tell me who do you ztand with, and who did you ztand againzt."
She sure spoke funny. But by the way she had posed her questions, the old lion assumed she was on his side. "At ease, friend." he said. "I am on the same side as you. I stand with Lumatha, thus with Mashujaa, against Isiziba. Allies have nothing to fear." Sumai managed a smile for the first time in weeks; it felt good, and relieving, to meet with someone of the same side on these lands. Then he noticed the faint marks of blood on one of her front paws and a smell of blood, however slight, was indeed in the air. A non-healing war wound, possibly? That probably meant she had also fought. A female on the battlefield... "Huh. That's quite a rare find." There had been very few, next to no, females on his battle front. Which was quite understandble, considering the nature of it... Yes, surely a female would have had a very hard time to cope out there. Anyhow, he was forgetting his manners. "I am Sumai. Former Lieutenant of the Second Company on the Eastern front. May I ask for your honourable name? And also while I'm at it, what brings you here? These are quite hostile lands."

"I'm all right. I know how to survive alone, you know. It's in my blood." Sheek looked up, smiled faintly and looked back down to continue to lick his paw. "I know, I just worry too much" he said quietly, then continued to lick it. "You are a different matter though." Sheek felt something poke his nose, he didn't know why but this just brought a warm smile to his face. "You need food, brother dear. My kill might have been nice, but it will do no good if it will be left there to rot." Sheek lifted, Titled his head and his ears perked up. he then felt his paw being moved away. "Since I am not hungry right now, and I did notice you eyeing at the gazelle just a moment ago..." "Are you...?" "Don't even try to deny it, brother. I know you too well. Just take a bite, or a few, or as many as you want." Sheek smiled in awe, he nodded slowly as a gesture of thanking Tefnut, he then went over and immediately tore into the fresh, warm blooded meat. He would normally of asked re-assurance of Tefnut's decision, but he seen it in her expression that she meant what she said, and plus the fact Sheek was a hair width away from starvation, so his hesitancy pretty much non-existant. Sheek spent a while tearing apart the animal and eating as much as his throat would let him pass down, but his body was not quite used to this eating thing again which caused him to feel full very quickly, so he paused for a while to let it go down. Even though Sheek hadn't finished eating yet, he cleaned his paws a bit from any blood and scraps of meat that was stuck on his paws. He looked up at Tefnut and gave her a warm smile. "Thankyou my dear sister, I owe you one greatly" he said affectionately Sheek then continued to dig his muzzle into the gazelle, and again eat as much as his body would let him, he didn't really chew the food, he just swallowed chunks whole, he didn't feel the need to savour the flavour, he just wanted the food to give him strength. So of course because of this it didn't take long for him to finish the whole thing, he took a deep sigh of delight. "It feels so good to feel this full again" he said happily Sheek rolled onto his back and closed his eyes, his smile fainted slightly "Tef.....i know ive asked this but how do you feel?" Sheek rolled onto his side and looked at her with his eyes partially closed "I mean....about this....this war.....our pride" Sheek let out a deep breath "What do you think will happen to us? where shall we go from here ?" Sheek closed his eyes fully "Sorry for all the questions, just that i haven't spoke to anyone for ages, so many questions on my mind i want to share". Sheek turned his head and open his eyes and stared at the sky "Life goes on ?" he managed to say in a whisper

Xoren relaxed instantly when she heard this other feline was not an enemy. She managed to smile back at him, and when he introduced himself she became certain that she indeed had never met him before.
"I am pleazed to meet you, Zumai", she replied to him and nodded a very faint bow with her head. "I am Xoren, former War Prieztezz of the Mazhuuja pride. I fought with our main army at the Zouthern front. What bringz me here, though..." Her smile faded and she shrugged slightly. "I have found zolitude a better way to zerve my god. My fellow pride memerz feel... uneazy around me. I do not feel threatened, at leazt not by the Iziziba who fought againzt me..." She chuckled unamusedly. "And thoze who did not would be foolz to attack me."
She paused, and tilted her head slightly, staring at Sumai with her pitch black eyes. After a moment she averted her gaze. "And you?" she asked, seemingly looking at the dull area around them. "What bringz you here? There iz nothing here, everything iz dead and empty, and only memoriez of the war remain."
"Tef.....i know ive asked this but how do you feel? I mean....about this....this war.....our pride. What do you think will happen to us? where shall we go from here ?"
Tef had sat close to Sheek to wait for him to finish his meal. She had been gazing around, keeping watch so that no one would sneak up on them and steal their food. She sighed and turned to look at her brother.
"Life goes on ?"
"Indeed..." She shook her head, and returned to gaze around. "I will be honest with you. It will be difficult, and some may not be able to survive the change. They will wither and die, while the Mashuuja and Lumatha grow stronger." She paused. "But those who can adapt to the change will survive. Their lives will be changed forever, but they will learn to live with it. They will always be remembered as the 'bad guys' of the war, and they will always be rejected by others."
The liopardess glanced at Sheek from her eyecorner. She might have looked calm for now, but she was actually worried of how her brother would survive the change. He was looking horrible already, and that was only after one month since the war had ended. She even went as far as to feel quilty on how well she herself was doing compared to him.
But then she managed to push these thoughts aside again. She would now be able to stand with her brother again now that she had found him - or he found her. She could now help him, and help she would for she did not want to see him wither away like so many of the Isiziba had.
She took a deep breath, and managed to smile faintly. "I'm confident", she said, and turned to look at Sheek. "I believe we will survive. We have each other to help during difficult times, and that is something many of our pride don't have anymore."

Sheek turned back onto his side and continued to listen "But those who can adapt to the change will survive. Their lives will be changed forever, but they will learn to live with it. They will always be remembered as the 'bad guys' of the war, and they will always be rejected by others." Sheek sighed in agreement "Its a cruel truth" he said muttering "'History is written by the Victor', whoever wins gets to write the history about the war, the history about the people who lost. and look what has happened to us" Sheek dug his claws into the ground and flattened his forehead into it "I'm confident" "Hmm?" Sheek lifted his head up and looked at Tefnut "I believe we will survive. We have each other to help during difficult times, and that is something many of our pride don't have anymore." Tefnut was indeed right, and this gave Sheek alot more confidence in the struggles they may be lying ahead of them.
Sheek stood up, re-adjusted himself and sat down right next to Tefnut, he gave her a slight rub on her shoulder with his muzzle as a gesture of Thanks again. "You have already helped me allot, that was going to of been my last attempt at a kill" Sheek Paused "If you are confident Tef, then so am I, I just wish I could be of some better help to you, I mean, what can -I- do?" Sheek Looked down at the ground and sighed "It's great that we have finally found each other Tef. I just don't want to feel Im some sort of weight.......holding you down" Sheek Paused "I'm sorry, just speaking my mind again...." Sheek Turned his head back to Tef and smiled "It will be getting dark soon, do you want to settle down somewhere for the night or...." Sheek paused He ran out of things to say now pretty much, his mind speaking left him in an awkward situation, so he just hoped that Tef had an idea or would carry the question on.

OOC: Sorry again for... very long post-ness... xP
IC: "I am Xoren, former War Prieztezz of the Mazhuuja pride. I fought with our main army at the Zouthern front."
Ah, the Southern front. Sumai had heard plenty about the struggles down south from messengers and warriors who had been transferred from that area. But the southern troops had also been the most successful in actually conquering land, something Sumai somewhat envied them of. At the Eastern front it had all just gone back and forth, back and forth... Success one day, back to square one the next. Just thinking about it made his mood fall... Xoren continued:
"I have found zolitude a better way to zerve my god. My fellow pride memerz feel... uneazy around me. I do not feel threatened, at leazt not by the Iziziba who fought againzt me..."
A god? Was she religious as well? This lioness only seemed to grow more and more interesting. "I see."
"And you?" she then asked. "What bringz you here? There iz nothing here, everything iz dead and empty, and only memoriez of the war remain."[/i]
The old lion sighed and turned his face towards the vast open space that surrounded them, but he saw nothing, for his mind was elsewhere. "Indeed." he replied after a moment of silence. "I have no real home to return to; my family is gone and my comrades and friends I've..." He cringed as if the memories caused him physical pain. "I've lost. There is nothing for me left back there. So I thought I'd investigate our prize. This is supposed to make up for their starting the damned war, is it not?" The emerald green eyes scanned the plains for anything that might be considered good land, but in his grief and bitterness saw nothing. He snorted and his face turned to a frown. "I can see why they wanted Mashujaa's territory for their own. This is nothing but wasteland." So that might not be entirely true; once the herds returned this could surely be good hunting grounds, but now... ravaged and scarred by war, it was indeed dead and empty.
--------------------------------
Plodding on through the muddy grass was a lone figure. He had been wandering around aimlessly for days, not caring any more where his paws took him. The memories... The memories, they haunted him day and night. Wherever he looked he saw them - the faces. The dead, the dying... Their eyes... Everywhere he saw them! There was no escape! The young white lion let out another agonizing roar and dropped the front half of his body to the ground, clutching his head with both paws, while his hind legs still stood. "Just... stop! Go away!" he groaned and stayed in this funny position for a few moments before he gathered strength again and rose to his feet. Then, after shaking his head as if that would rid himself of the demons, carried on walking. When nothing else made sense, the only thing to do was to keep moving forward...
Hagen had been an involuntary Mashujaa soldier at the Southern front in the Great War - he had tried to the very last moment to avoid fighting, but had been forced to participate, and to kill, by his superiors. "Every claw and fang counts" they said, which is why they hadn't sent him home, despite the white lion's, to begin with, meagre performance when it came to actually defeating an enemy... His best friend, Esu, had saved his life many times, until Esu got nearly killed himself while Hagen was elsewhere, avoiding getting hit by a hostile paw. After that, said friend hadn't spoken a word to him and Esu would be crippled forever, never able to hunt or run again. Hagen would never be able to forgive himself for that... Never.
Now it would soon be getting dark too and Hagen had no idea where to find shelter in this country. Well, not that having shelter really mattered anyway... He was about to mutter something to himself when he suddenly he realized he wasn't alone. His body tensed up and came to a stop. Ahead were two other figures, a lion and a... a lioness? By the looks of it. Being "blessed" with a pure white coat, Hagen stood out like an addax in the jungle so they would surely see him sooner or later. For a moment the lone male considered carrying on as if he hadn't noticed them. But on the other hand... Maybe some company would help keeping the ghosts at bay? Perhaps... What if they were the enemy? It wasn't unlikely. But did it really matter? If they came from the fronts, they were probably as broken as he was... And who they had once fought for was... irrelevant. Taking a quivering breath, the white lion approached the pair. It was worth a try.

"I can see why they wanted Mashujaa's territory for their own. This is nothing but wasteland."
Xoren smiled with slight amusement. "Yez... for now theze landz do not look like a proper payment for all the trouble Iziziba cauzed for both of our pridez..." She shrugged. "I want to believe it will change, that theze landz look better when the nature haz had time to repair all the damage the war cauzed. Perhapz then we will be given the proper prize..."
She paused, staring at the distance without really seeing anything. After a moment of silence she blinked, and her gaze returned to Sumai. "I am zorry to hear that you have lozt zomeone to the war", she said. "I am not zurprized though, I do not think there iz anyone who haz not lozt zomething... And there are many thingz that one can looze."
She shook her head. She had seen her share of both young and old warriors loose their mental health after either gaining a crippling injury, or seeing their close ones either gain such an injury or die. "I have began to wonder if thiz whole war waz a wazte of time. For now it doez not look like we have gained much, azide from the fact of getting more land. Ezpecially for your pride, Zumai."
She tilted her head in thought. "What do you plan to do now, Zumai?" she asked, changing the subject. "You have now zeen that the landz are not az luzh az everyone had hoped for. Will you ztay here and wait to zee what the future bringz?"
"It's great that we have finally found each other Tef. I just don't want to feel Im some sort of weight.......holding you down."
Tefnut smiled warmly. "You could never be a burden to me, bro" she said and nuzzled Sheek from under his chin. "For now you can concentrate on becoming healthy again, then we will see what time brings for us to face."
"It will be getting dark soon, do you want to settle down somewhere for the night or...."
The liopardess pulled her head away from her brother and returned to gaze around. "I think it would be best that we -" She stopped in the middle of her sentence, and frowned. "We have company..."
Tefnut fell silent and just examined the stranger. It seemed to be a young male lion, and she found it strange that she had not noticed him earlier. His pure white coat did stand out quite well.
She also noticed that he seemed to be... wary. It was as if he wasn't completely sure what to do with her and Sheek there. When the white male began to cautiously approach them Tef glanced at her brother before turning her gaze back at the stranger. He did not look hostile, more like he would just want some company, and so the liopardess decided that she would be friendly with this lion... For now.
"Hello", she said, summoning forth a faint smile to replace her previous frown. "You look like you could use a bit of company...?"

"I am not zurprized though, I do not think there iz anyone who haz not lozt zomething... And there are many thingz that one can looze."
"Indeed." Sumai sighed.
"What do you plan to do now, Zumai? You have now zeen that the landz are not az luzh az everyone had hoped for. Will you ztay here and wait to zee what the future bringz?"[/i]
The old lion looked out over the barren lands once more, then shrugged. "I do not know. I suppose I shall wait. Wait for the memory of this war to fade. Maybe then both the lands and those who live in it will be happy to be alive once more. That's how it has always been before..."
A long moment of silence passed. The odd pair's long manes waved slowly in the light breeze and ruffled their coats. This really was the epitome of the quiet after the storm. After having lived so long in the raging hurricane of war, silence was something new and alien. When suddenly the storm had passed and one no more had to focus solely on one's own survival every moment of the day, every day... where did one go? What did one do...?
"I've seen so many battles... So much war... Yet nothing like this one. This one will linger. For generations, the young ones of these countries will hear stories of this war, I can feel it. And you and I still are the lucky ones - we are the winners, rightfully so. Those Isiziba however... I wouldn't mind in the least if they were erased and exterminated, it's no less than they deserve" he snorted. "But this must be difficult for them. I hope they'll find somewhere to go, somewhere that's so far away from here that we will never have to see or hear of them again...!" Sumai's tone of voice had gradually turned into more of a growl than plain speech as he spoke and his sharp claws grasped the earth beneath his paws in anger. "Curse them." he spat. Then the old lion regained his composure and calmed down, taking a deep breath and exhaling in a sigh. "So how about you, Xoren? What are you going to do? Do you have a home to return to?"
-----------------------
Hagen froze and watched carefully the lioness' every move. She was kind of small for a lioness though. Yes, in fact, she wasn't a lioness at all - she was a leopard. That explained it...
"Hello" she said. She sounded nice... "You look like you could use a bit of company...?"
"Heh..." The white lion grinned, looking down at his paws. "That's the least you could say." he almost chuckled. Imagine to find someone who cares here of all places... "Mind if I... join you?" Slowly, slowly, Hagen approached the leopard and the lion. They didn't seem like they would strike him down right away at least. Not that it mattered if they did... He'd probably deserve it. The young male held his head low in submission, even though he, as a Mashujaa member, had to "bow to no one as the victor of the great war". But Hagen felt everything but victorious. And the last thing he wanted now was to scare off or intimidate the only company he had had in days.

Moyo had sneaked away from his parents to go play, when he saw a grasshopper. Moyo started chasing the grasshopper, pouncing again and again. He came to a rock crouched down as low as he could and jumped up over it at the grasshopper. He landed on the rock and without a second in-between he jumped again missed the grasshopper, landed on a lions tail and tripped. "Ow, mom was right, if you don't time it right you land on your face." He said rubbing his forehead, and turned to see what he tripped on. He looked up and saw a thin grown male lion that had obviously just eaten and what seemed to be a lioness or a leopard with another lion headed this way, they probably hadn't seen him because he was so small. Moyo was scared and took a few steps back. After remembering that his father told him never to show fear, he regained his composure and refused to show fear, he raised his head and bared his teeth. He looked kind of pathetic in a cute sorta way, a tiny cub standing up to a male lion.

"You could never be a burden to me, bro" she said and nuzzled Sheek from under his chin. "For now you can concentrate on becoming healthy again, then we will see what time brings for us to face."
Sheek Smiled and Poked his nose on Tefnut's Shoulder "Thank you Sister" he whispered
"We have company..." Sheek suddenly shot up into a sitting position, and focused his eyes to where Tefnut was staring It didn't take long until he seen what Tefnut had spotted, because of how well this lion stood out. Sheek bared his teeth and claws defensively, he was in no strength to fight and in no mind to either, so that's all he could do, and hope the lion would either be scared off or non-hostile towards them
"Hello", "You look like you could use a bit of company...?" Sheek trusted Tefnut's judgement and hospitality, so he soon sheathed his teeth and claws, and put on a faint smile, after a few moments he nodded respectfully to try and get a message across of submitance and peace.
Sheek Shuffled closer to Tefnut, something he wouldn't normally do, but in his current state, it most likely was a subconscious move of protection "Mind if I... join you?" Sheek Smiled and nodded again "I don't see why not" he said welcoming
Sheek felt something fall over his paw, it was a little cub, a moment of awe came over Sheek A warm smile came over Sheek "No need to be frightened little one, no-one is dangerous here" he said gently.

The white lion let out a sigh of relief and walked closer to the pair, a little faster and a little more confident than the moment before. He gave them both a polite nod before he carefully sat down, a pace away from them. "I'm glad to meet some friendly souls again." he said, smiling weakly. "It... it really is a relief. I haven't seen many since..." He paused. Just saying the word seemed to bring him pain. "...since the war..." Another moment of silence passed. But Hagen was not about to let the memories come back to haunt him again. "So, then... where are you from? Or wait, no! No, no. Forget I asked that... I don't want to know. Let's not talk about the war. If that's possible." He managed a smile again. "I'm Hagen. And I've--" The appearance of a lion cub made Hagen cut his words short. It had, quite literally, stumbled across the other male. The white lion flinched and tilted his head at the newcomer, who had proceeded to baring his teeth at the full grown male. He seemed like quite a brave cub, standing up to someone that much bigger than himself like that. Hagen held back a chuckle. "Don't fear, little one; I don't think anyone here's going to harm you." He glanced at the leopardess and the other lion. "Or at least I'm not." he thought. "You seem like quite the brave one." Hagen added, looking back at the tan cub, smiling for real this time.

"No need to be frightened little one, no-one is dangerous here" Said one of the male lion so he stoped showing his teeth and opened his eyes.
"Don't fear, little one; I don't think anyone here's going to harm you. You seem like quite the brave one." Said the other male lion. The white lion was smiling unlike before. Moyo retracted his claws and smiled but after a moment he tilted his head and looked at the leopard and lions questioningly with his big green eyes.
"Really, but my dad said that anything could be prey I thought since I'm littler than you I might be prey." He said walking in between them. He looked at the white male lion. "And what do you mean war? What war?" He asked walking toward him. For a while he thought they were lying, and didn't want to turn his back on them.
But before he could answer the question Moyo sneezed. The sneeze was strong enough to make him sit down. Moyo stood up and curiously awaited his answer.

Shyla stretched her muscles, the deep scarring in her back legs causing that same old stiffness she'd felt for the past few months since the war had finally ended. It wasn't really satisfying, being a member of the pride who had "won" that war...it didn't really feel like anyone had won.
She glanced over at another figure--Xoren, it looked like, the lioness with the somewhat silly accent, speaking with a large red male. Shyla's gray eyes peered around to look for Hagen, the poor thing, traumatized by the war, but it didn't seem he was anywhere to be seen.
Shyla trotted over to the duo and faced the newcomer.
"Well, Xoren, who is your friend?" She asked, much like a mother lioness would ask her cubs the same question. It was in Shyla's nature to be mother-hen like, and now wasn't an exception. The wind ruffled her pale cream fur as she awaited an answer, her face patient and warm.

"So how about you, Xoren? What are you going to do? Do you have a home to return to?"
The white lioness' ears flattened very briefly before they returned to their normal position. She looked at Sumai with a slightly pondering expression, apparently wondering how to answer.
"Home... No", she finally said. "Mazhujaa haz never felt like home to me, moztly becauze my pride zeemz to think I am too ztrange for them to underztand. I zuppoze..." She paused thoughtfully. "I zuppoze that now, after zerving in the front linez, zome of them might give me more rezpect than before. It iz not the zame though, I do not have true friendz, and I have began to think that my pride matez fear me for what I zerve." She shrugged. "Zo I am homelezz, more or lezz, unlezz I ztay on thiz barren wazteland that uzed to be the Iziziba territory... I can not return to my original home either, not that I would even want to."
It was to remain unclear whether or not Xoren would have continued, for her explanation was interrupted.
"Well, Xoren, who is your friend?"
"Zhyla..." She nodded a very faint greeting to the creamy lioness, but her face remained blank. She didn't really look like she minded Shyla's company, but neither did she seem pleased to have her there. So instead of sayng anything more to her pride mate, she turned back to Sumai.
"Zumai, thiz iz Zhyla, another member of Mazhujaa who fought in the war. Zhyla, thiz iz Zumai, a member of Lumatha and a Former Lieutenant."
"Mind if I... join you?"
Tefnut smiled warmly at the young lion when Sheek told him to come closer. By the way he spoke of the war and took back his question of where they came from, she got the feeling that he was greatly troubled by the past events. Poor thing... If he was from Mashujaa or Lumatha, it would meant that Isizibas were not the only ones who had suffered.
The white male introduced himself, but was quickly interrupted when a cub appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Tefnut raised an eyebrow, but kept her friendly smile so that the cub would not be frightened more than he apparently already was. The cub seemed to calm down though when both Hagen and Sheek reassured him that they would do no harm to him.
"And what do you mean war? What war?"
The liopardess glanced at Sheek momentarily. If the cub was from around this area, perhaps he was simply too young to understand the recent events...
"There were... disagreements between prides", she said. She was still smiling, but her eyes had a pained look in them. "These disagreements could not be solved and so the war begun. Three prides fought, and they fought until one of them lost." She sighed faintly. "The war is over now, so you should not worry about it."
Oh she knew she lied.. They all could be in danger if they met any Mashujaa or Lumatha members. And since she did not know what pride the cub belonged to, she could not be sure that even he would be saved.
Remembering that though Hagen had introduced himself, she and Sheek had not. She smiled at both Hagen and the cub. "I'm Tefnut, and this", she motioned at Sheek, "is my brother Sheek." Then she turned her attention completely on the cub. "What is your name, little one?" she asked, tilting her head curiously. "And what are you doing here alone?"

"What is your name, little one?" she asked. "And what are you doing here alone?"
"I am Moyomweusi son of Asali and Nge, grandson of Usiku and Roho, but you can call me Moyo." He said before sticking his head down a gopher hole. "The land were we come from is in a drought, so we moved here and joined the lu- lu- lugama pride." He said walking over to Tefnut. "I'm just out here to get away from my parents, there pretty obsessive about teaching me how to hunt cause of how they grew up." As he walked behind her he rolled over on his back and started playing with her tail.
"But what did they disagree about?" He asked rolling over onto his belly. "You can tell me. I can take it. Were I come from lions would kill some one as soon as look at them, people got into fights over nothing." He said looking over toward Sheek "Some cubs even killed other cubs, I killed a lizard once but that's different." He said it so nonchalantly that it was like it wasn't even a big deal to him. He sneezed as he stood up knocking him into tefnut's leg.

It was raining again. The droplets of water hit the outer cave floor with a splashing sound and onto the muddy ground below as it ran down the sloping rocks. Tagzer lay at the entrance to a small cave that sat on a low hill overlooking vast grassland that was once known as the Isiziba territory.
He had been lucky to find the cave as the pain in his right thigh had become unbearably sore. He turned and looked at the long gash that now seemed to have swollen, he had received it when he had tried to hunt a buffalo earlier this morning but had only meet the wrong end of its horns.
Tagzer sighed and rolled over to face the wall and closed his eyes, maybe he would have better luck next time.

Odion awoke. He was troubled, and he hadn’t slept well since the start of the war, all that time ago.
Almost a month after the battle had ended and he still had no contact with his friends or comrades from the southern and eastern fronts. He had fought on both of those, following orders and all, but he still carried many scars, none of them to bad except for one, someone had luckily managed to land a claw across his face, leaving a still visible slice running vertically under his right eye.
He got up and started walking, to most it would seem like he was in the middle of nowhere, and to most that was right, he was about half a mile away from the eastern front and heading towards a small hill and waterhole deep in Mashujaa's original territory. A place were he and his brother used to play when they were cubs.
He missed his brother, they were close and someone higher up decided to lie to him, telling him his brother was safe and out of the lands, but no. he was dead and left to rot, until Odion heard the news. He ran from the front lines and found the corps, dragging it to the place he knew his brother would be happy, he buried him with his parents in attendance. Soon after they left too, and he was on his own.
He would try to visit here more often; it gave him a sad feeling, but one of hope. That his brother was happy and watching over him. When he arrived he spoke in a croaky voice. "Hey brother how’s it up there with the dammed and the lost?" he didn't expect a reply so he continued "I miss you, you know that? Why did this accursed war start? And why did you have to fight?" he said tears forming in his eyes. "Brother, Keep watch over those that have died, and keep watch over Mother and Father, they were relay lost after you died. Let them know you are OK, and say hi to my comrades for Me." he said taking a drink. "And watch over these lands, I know you can and you will do a good job, I always believed in you brother. Remember me brother, and I love you, and Miss you, but ill see you sometime brother."
Without another word, he walk off. Taking a detour via the southern front, he fought there longest and had to pay respect to them too 'Then to the east and north' he thought silently, Hoping, nay praying, that he would find someone soon, 'regardless of pride' he thought, 'but who would want me?
He set off to the old battle fronts

Shyla chuckled to herself, amused by Xoren's thinly veiled indifference towards her (and more than likely the others in the pride).
"Hello, Sumai. Pleasure to meet you. I do wish it was under much, much happier circumstances, however...Have you had rest recently? And you do look rather drawn," Shyla said worriedly. "I suppose everyone does nowadays though, being what with the war and everything. No happy memories there," she said, her smile fading into a small frown. "We should be going on a hunt soon, it's been a while since everyone's eaten, if you're hungry..." she added.

OOC: Xscar10, I just have to mention this - you play Moyo so brilliantly! Best cub character I've seen in quite some time x3
IC: Sumai listened intently to the white lioness' reply, but when she had finished, he felt he still was left with more questions than answers. Then where did she come from? And what was this religion of hers that... made other fear her? Why had she left her original home? Was it because of this "god" that she served? Very intriguing indeed...
Another lioness then appeared, apparently named... 'Zhyla'? Sumai raised an eyebrow. Maybe it was actually 'Shyla', seeing as Xoren exchanged every S for a Z. "Zumai..." he repeated in his head. He didn't know if to find it amusing or insulting.
"Hello, Sumai. Pleasure to meet you. I do wish it was under much, much happier circumstances, however..."
The old lion could only nod and agree.
"Have you had rest recently? And you do look rather drawn,"[/i]
Sumai was slightly surprised at the question, as no one had asked him such a thing since before the war; no one bothered to care. It must be a lioness thing... She then proceeded to talk about a hunt. Was she insinuating that he should join them? Hunting was lioness work... But then on the other hand, Sumai had hunted for himself since the war started, and he was getting quite peckish. So why not? He was a fairly good hunter, and these lionesses probably needed all the help they could get in these harsh conditions. "I'd be interested to join you in this hunt." the old lion said. "It would be good to put these old muscles to work again." He smiled and suddenly felt quite eager to go. The thrill of the hunt was a decent alternative to the adrenalin-rush of battle.
-----------------------
Hagen felt both happy and sad to see the little cub, Moyo, bound around so nonchalantly as he did. As if he didn't have a care in the world. What a lucky one. 'Lugama pride'? Maybe he meant the Lumatha pride? The white lion wasn't about to ask to confirm this though... The longer he could stay with these lions, or half-lions, without knowing their origin the better.
"But what did they disagree about?" the cub said after the leopardess, Tefnut, had finished explaining the war in the most merciful way possible. The cub continued talking, speaking of some rather horrible things and, hearing this, Hagen felt sorry for Moyo.
"Some cubs even killed other cubs, I killed a lizard once but that's different."
The white lion's jaw dropped in amazement and for a moment he was just stunned. What couldn't he too could be so carefree? Then the young male regained his composure and looked to Tefnut and the brown lion, Sheek, to see if either of them was going to reply. He felt reluctant to respond himself. "Maybe we could talk about something else?" he finally said. "It's... no fun to talk about the war." Hagen managed a sad chuckle, then tried to change the subject. "You, Tefnut and Sheek. You are brother and sister? If you don't mind me asking... How?"

Sheek Layed and was just a spectator in all that was going on. He didn't really have much to say, plus the fact he was getting tired fast, mostly because in the last month he was keeping his body awake as much as possible in search of food, he cannot recall the last time since the war where he had a decent amount of sleep, all he had was tiny naps, besides that he was continually awake, in attempt to catch a meal. Now he had finally had something to eat thanks to Tefnut, He felt full to the top, its a known fact that lions can eat so much in one go that you see a noticeable bulge in their stomach, and due to Sheek's unhealthy skinny figure, this bulge was very easy to see, and now sheek's search for a meal had finally been for-filled, his body started shutting down, ready for a long good sleep. It felt a struggle to move his body as he very quickly became very weak and tired. His eyelids started to flutter
"You, Tefnut and Sheek. You are brother and sister? If you don't mind me asking... How?" Sheek concentrated to keep his eyes open "Heh....its ok, all I can be comfortable to say at this time is that we had the same father, and different mother. which is how we look somewhat different" he said drowsily Sheek looked at Tefnut and smiled warmly "But not only just brother and sister, we are like best friends, even if at times we have been far apart in distance, so i am so glad that we have bumped into each other again" sheek said gently Sheek Took a long yawn "I know first impressions are very important, so I'm sorry in how sleepy i am Hagen and Moyo, its just suddenly came over" he again said drowsily
Sheek rested his head on his paws, he was going to try and stay awake not to be rude until it was time to actually sleep for the rest of the group, so he continued to nuzzle and lick his injured front paw to keep him awake.

"Maybe we could talk about something else? It's... no fun to talk about the war." Said Hagen, Moyo was displeased with this answer but he honored his wishes.
"I know first impressions are very important, so I'm sorry in how sleepy i am Hagen and Moyo, its just suddenly came over." Said Sheek.
"Why are you so sleepy? Did you stay up all night cause I know how that feels, or was it cause you just ate, or cause" Moyo stopped in the middle of his sentence, and sneezed again. "Why do I keep sneezing?!" He said covering his nose with his front paws, right before he sneezed again and blew up like a balloon.

"We should be going on a hunt soon, it's been a while since everyone's eaten, if you're hungry..."
Xoren's ears flattened momentarily, but they returned to their normal position before Sumai replied to Shyla. It seemed it was pretty much decided, and that they would go out to hunt something.
"I zuppoze that iz a good idea", she said. "I do wonder what kind of prey we'll find from theze landz... And how much." She smiled faintly. "Zo... Zhall we go find out what prey the Izizibaz had here?"
The white lioness gazed around for a moment, sniffing the air lightly. No scent... She had expected as much, the rain washed everything away so quickly. They would have to find another way of tracking down prey. She knew the hunt would be a pain to do, even without her cut paw. She didn't complain though. If the wound opened... Well, she would worry about that later.
Tefnut wasn't sure what she should do with the cub. She wasn't all that fond of having the tiny creature play with her tail, but she couldn't really pull it away either, since that might just make the cub more excited on chasing her tail.
Though.. With the impression Tef had gotten, the cub seemed difficult to get excited of anything really. cubs killing other cubs...? She shivered faintly. That was just wrong.
The liopardess was glad when Hagen changed the subject. She smiled faintly, and nodded in agreement when Sheek explained their relation. "My mother was a clouded leopard", she added. "She died when I was very young, and father had to take me with the pride."
She didn't say anything more of that though, and was glad when Sheek continued on explaining how close friends she and her brother were. Hagen seemed already upset enough by the war, and Tef thought that he didn't need to hear just how "well" the pride had taken her in.
"Why are you so sleepy? Did you stay up all night cause I know how that feels, or was it cause you just ate, or cause... Why do I keep sneezing?!"
Tefnut blinked, and chuckled faintly. "It's raining", she said. "Perhaps your sneezing is caused by that." She then looked closer at Sheek, noticing how tired her brother indeed looked. She shook her head slightly and sighed, wondering what would have happened had she not been there to catch the prey for him. "As to why my brother is tired..." Tef grinned mischievously at her brother, and poked his nose lightly. "He was so hungry he could have eaten an elephant... or two, or a whole herd. Luckily enough his hunger was satisfied with that little prey over there - for now at least."
Deciding she had teased Sheek enough for now, she turned to look at Hagen, and then Moyo. "Are you two hungry, by the way?" she asked with a slightly lifted eyebrow. "Though my brother's appetite might be endless, even he can't eat a whole gazelle at once, and so there should be quite a bit to eat still."

Shyla tilted her head and closed her eyes happily at Xoren's and Sumai's agreement.
"It's settled then," she said warmly. "Shall I gather the lionesses, or do you want to? Unless you prefer not to join us this time on our hunt."

"Are you two hungry, by the way? Though my brother's appetite might be endless, even he can't eat a whole gazelle at once, and so there should be quite a bit to eat still." tefnut asked.
"OK!" Moyo said excitedly. He ran over to the gazelle and took a relitively big bite, growling, trying to rip the flesh off. "Thanks!" He said swallowing the meat chunk. "I think I'm gonna take a nap too." He said yawning, and curling up next to Sheek.

Kyto stretched as he had just woken up. But his parents were no where to be found? Kyto called out "Mama! Papa! Where are you?" No response came back... Kyto rushed up a tree to try to find where his parents may be. But from the highest point...He saw signs of war...but where? Who from. He looked until he thought about last night...what his parents had said to him. His mother said she'd always love him and to never forget that? and she had tears in her eyes. Could my parents be...Kyto thought for a second and then shook his head. "No that cant be. They wouldnt do that?" Kyto began making a mourinful chirping call. Maybe someone would hear it and comfort me he thought.
