Brushing Up On Battling

OOC: I'm in the Great Battle, so I decided I'd better try improve my battlling RP skiils. You're free to jump in if ya want!

Layla was angry. She was shrieking like a demon, and all the rocks and trees around her were peppered with claws and claw marks. It was the third time today she found evidence of rogues on her territory! When she caught them, they'd better beg for mercy. Even though she wouldn't give any.

She paced back and forth beside the lake. If she found the imbecile who was strutting around her territory, he was going to pay.
Layla threw back her red hair over to one side and bared her claws. A strong wind whipped up.

Krateros walked slowly toward the lake, and took a drink. He noticed another figure near the lake as well, so he stood up to see them. When he realized it was a lion he jumped into the water, and swam toward them slowly.

Layla jumped slightly as she heard a splash. She glared at the lake with a long-suffering hatred. She scanned the lake carefully.

Crocodile.

Rogue lions could wait. No matter how friendly, there was a limited supply of food and crocodiles usually ate more in two sittings than she did in a week. Layla decided to warn off this guy. Though she could occasionally be cowardly, Layla always defended her territory. Otherwise it wasn't hers, which leads to being a rogue.

"Crocodile. What are you doing here? This is my territory, so I'd suggest you leave!" Rude, perhaps, but Layla was so angry the croc was lucky she hadn't stabbed first and not bothered asking questions later.

Krateros looked at her in anger. He surfaced in front of her.
"I move where I need to, I am not threatened by you." He said standing up, and looking down at her.

"But I do not wish to hurt you..." He tensed his muscles.

Well, that was all the invitation Layla needed. She smiled radiantly. "You should be."

Layla lifted a paw slowly and pointed at the huge crocodile. She smirked. The claws shot off her paw and headed straight for the croc's face at point-blank range. "This is why you shouldn't underestimate lionesses!"

He dodged a few of the claws, but one scraped his cheek.
"I didn't..." He said before howling at her with the Voice of Olympus. The shock wave expanded in her direction, and he drew his claws.

Layla knew a powerful soundwave when she saw one hurtling towards her with intent to kill. She countered it with a powerful roar of her own and jumped back as the remnants pushed her back. She hissed at Big, Green and Ugly.

"Here it goes..."

Layla sent a strong gale of wind at Crocky and threw a continuous barrage of claws, firing them as soon as they grew. All that work refining her powers had paid off! To combine all three and have them power each other, she kept roaring soundwaves in short, powerful bursts, while sending wind to batter Crocky and throw sand and pebbles into his face.

Krateros saw the berage of claws, and acted quickly.
He jumped out over to the water, and chains sprung from the depths.

The chaines hurled toward her, but instead of grabbing her, they broke the ground below her.

Layla growled in frustration as he dodged her attacks. She hissed when he jumped towards the lake and threw five claws as he was in the air. Her eyes widened in shock as Zeus's Chains flew towards her, but instead hit the ground in front of her.

Layla laughed. "You can't harm me with Zeus's Chains. I am Layla," she smirked. "Daughter of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, Battle and Useful Arts."

"I care nothing of the gods, they betrayed me, and left me for dead!"
He lifted the chains from the ground, he sprung from the shallows, and used the claws of Hades to slash at her.

"Not my problem!"

She quickly sent a powerful gust of wind beneath her, sending her flying into the air and hovering twenty metres above Crocky. "You hit like Aphrodite!"

As she avoided him, he slashed a tree in half.
"More like Zeus!" He said throwing the tree at her.

"I do not care for your insolent jabber girl, leave me be!" He said running and grabbing another tree.

"Weakness of Aphrodite, brainpower of Ares and ego of Zeus. My, what a warrior," Layla answered sarcastically as she dodged a tree. It was nearly impossible to hit a flying target with trees, for the Gods' sakes.

Layla took careful aim after a branch scratched her side, and fired a single claw to his throat.

"You can make all the fun you wish, but I have rivaled gods befor! Now leave me be!" He said, moving the tree in front of him stopping the claw.

"I have done nothing to be blamed for! Please just go!" He said releasing the chains again.

Crocky had something to say now. "You can make all the fun you wish-"
"Thank you."

"- I have rivalled gods before Please just go!"

Well, this guy sounded wimpy. He was running from her anyway, even if he was throwing trees at her and was trying to use Zeus's Chains again.

Athena, help me.

Layla saw her claws glow grey, with the Blessing of Athena. She took aim, and snapped a chain with a claw. She aimed again and fired another five claws at Crocky's back.

"Why must the god's torment there servant!?" He let the claws hit the tree again.

"What do you expect of me young one, why do you insist on fighting me?" He sat down.

"You say you are the doughter of Athena, then why don't you understand, I am not the enemy?" He howled the Voice of Olympus at the water.

[Lionsunrise]

"Hey, you refused to leave when I gave you a choice. Not my fault. The Gods are cruel and untrustworthy. I thought you would recognise that, being a servant. To whom, though? Zeus? Ares? Poseidon? Apollo?"

Layla was finished distracting him. She sent a powerful gale to blow away the trees he used as protection as he howled at the water.

"I serve whomever shows loyalty to his or her servants." He said as the tree was hurled away.

"but they betrayed me, I was sent to Hades, and when I returned I had already been replaced. I told you I don't want to fight, and I was just passing through." He stood up and bowed to her.

"I am not threatened by you, but that doesn't mean I do not respect you. You are a warrior of honor." He said looking back up at her.

Lady Layla smiled inwardly. "You will find precious few gods like that. The few I trust are Athena, Hestia, Artemis, and Apollo. Perhaps Poseidon on a good day. Oh, and Hephaestus."

Layla glanced towards the borders that marked her land. "You are also a warrior of honour. You remind me of someone I knew... A servant of Ares, the God of War."

She shrugged. "You may leave now. Oh, and if you seek revenge against the Gods, swear to me you will not kill Zeus. Zeus is Olympus itself. If he is killed, Olympus will fall to the Titans. Only the Sisters of Fate couldt turn the tides of that war."

Layla waited for his answer.

Krateros stood still.
"I would not try kill a god, but I will make him pay. I... *sigh* I make no promises." He said as he looked at his blades.

Layla sighed. "You cannot hope to defeat the King of Gods. Zeus is Lord of the Sky. He has the power to destroy continents. Few can hope to stand a chance against him, and the only ones who can defeat him are Kronos, Lord of Time. Typhon, the Father of Monsters. The Three Sisters of Fate. And his brothers, Poseidon and Hades. I won't stop you from your suicide mission though. Watch out for Sirens!"

With that warning, Layla tossed back her dark red hair, flicked her pink-gold tail, and left the warrior. She noticed he hadn't told her his former master's identity. She closed her golden eyes and thought.

"She does not know what power thease claws hold; I will work my way up before I am strong enough to take on, not only Zeus, but all of Olympus." He said to himself.

"I should have told her who my master was, but at least I know one more person I can trust." He said before walking away.

Ajax was walking along the border of his territory which was also just next to Layla's, although he didn't care if Layla noticed because he was still in his own territory. Even if she did bother coming over and trying to fight him, then he would try and be diplomatic about it first, because that was just the way he was, but he could also give one hell of a fight if he wanted.

It was only when he was about to rest when he caught the very faint smell of another, different lion inside Layla's territory with his very sensitive nose, something that he very much liked about himself. Sure, Layla could probably hold her own against the intruder, but he didn't want her to get hurt, he was still quite good friends with her.

Ajax slowly wandered towards the rogue, the scent getting stronger with each step, right up until he saw Layla and the rogue, who had obviously been fighting, walking away from each other. He glanced to his sides, then at the rogue and walked up to Layla, hoping she wouldn't turn on him and start fighting. "Hey...er...sorry if i'm kind of intruding, but...um...i just wanted to make sure that that rogue is getting out of your place pretty quick. Looks like you definitely showed him though."

"*laughes* You could say that." Kratreros said, as he turned to see the stranger.

" or you could say I won... Either way." He started to walk away again.

Ajax was quite glad that Layla didn't start attacking him, and he counted himself as lucky too, because at the moment, Layla didn't seem too happy. He opened his mouth to speak again when he was interrupted by the rogue that Layla had attacked, or it could have been the other way round, he couldn't say.

He turned his head around to look at the arrogant rogue. "Or you could say that you should get the hell out of here, otherwise, you'll have two of us to deal with, not one." he snarled, making sure that the rogue would disappear from sight.

"I would advise you not to threaten me." He said as he was insulted.

"I didn't insult you now did I?" He started to walk again.
