Description:
Xoren is of medium stature, not built, but well toned. While he is part cheetah (mother) he does not show the spots that are indicative of that species. Instead, the pale, tan-like, short haired coat he shares with his mother speaks to this portion of his genetics. His lion heritage (father) is obvious through his bushy light-fire mane and underbelly that clashes against his pale coat. While his lion physiology shows slightly, his sleek body is very much influenced by the cheetah in him. The one obvious characteristic that he shares with his mother are his smaller paws and skinnier legs that allow for quick movement and speedy reaction.
Behavior:
Xoren has difficulty making strong bonds between those he is around, but will be fiercely loyal and protective of those he as learned to care for. He is normally level-headed and thinks things through before acting, reserving brute force for a last resort. He would rather use stealth-based and intelligent methods to go around a difficult situation instead of charging in head-on. When angry though, all bets are off. Though it does not happen often, Xoren can be extremely dangerous when his family/friends are put in danger an will respond with deadly force and furious strength until he is calmed.
In normal situations or around those he trusts, Xoren's true nature is displayed. When he does not need to hold his strong masculine facade, his fun-loving personality is free to shine. Deep inside, Xoren cares most for the finer things in life, those that would be considered intelligent pursuits as opposed to more mundane and physically based activities. Though he wouldn't like to admit so, the calm docile spirit of his mother tends to be more of an influence than the de-facto powerful force most lions are considered to be.
After reuniting with his daughter:
Since finding his daughter, Xoren has changed a small bit. While he no longer has an extreme adversity to making close bonds with others, it is still present and tends to cause him to be very careful when meeting and conversing strangers and those he has no previous experience with. With Sola's similar attitude and personality, Xoren does not feel that he needs to hide his feminine aspects and tends to be much more open with his intellectual and artistic interests.
History:
Xoren's history is complex to say the least. Before he was born, his father, a lion by the name of Renith, met a pleasant cheetah in the plains of the savanna. Felicity, his mother, and Renith quickly became attached to each other and eventually made their previously secret relationship public. Unfortunately, this type of union was not accepted within the pride, and Xoren's parents were banished to isolation with Xoren to be born within the next few months. He grew up as his parents lived, isolated and alone, left to his own devices, and scarcely aware of the luxuries that blessed those who belonged to a pride. As Xoren grew, his father, a strong hunter, taught him how to survive in the seemingly barren savanna while his mother helped him explore his own mind and climb to intellectual peaks. When Xoren became an adolescent, his father was faced with a tragic accident while hunting, leaving him only his mother. As she was growing weaker, it was obvious that Xoren was the only way she would survive any further. Months later, death took his only remaining parent, leaving the now young adult the only surviving member of his family.
For the next many months, Xoren roamed the Savanna as a loner, scavenging for what he needed to live. Eventually, in the spirit of his parents, Xoren met Avanti, a mix breed much like Xoren himself. These two created a perfect relationship that seemed to make every day just a little brighter and each breath a bit easier. As time passed, Xoren and Avanti shrouded themselves in their patralineal heritage and disguised themselves as full breed lions. With a bit of dressing up, Xoren and Avanti made the perfect lion-lioness couple, even in the eyes of their new-found pride. In about a year's time, Xorens only child, his daughter Sola, was born. Life went on normally for the next two years, until the approach of Sola's second birthday. On a night when the moon shined brightly in the sky and the wind ran across the pride in a steady stream, disaster struck. Xoren awoke to find his pride fighting off a group of rogues attempting to pillage the pride's resources and destroy those who stood in there way. He told Avanti to stay back and protect Sola while he allowed his anger and brute power to overtake him. The rest is fuzzy, but Xoren does remember his awakening the next morning. It seems that he had fallen into a ditch while fighting, knocking him out, preventing him from facing the death that his fellow warriors faced. As he climbed out of his near grave, Xoren stared in horror at the bodies of those whom he cared for dearly. The only thing he could think of at that moment was what had happened to Avanti and Sola, his only real family. As Xoren approached the tree, tears burst from his eyes when he saw his love, bled to death in the same spot she was left to protect their daughter. More devastating, his daughter, the sun of his existence, was missing. Xoren searched the area for three days straight in a panicked depression, hoping that this was all a nightmare.
Since that day, Xoren has pushed forth, holding on only to the fact that his daughter may still be alive, somewhere, cared for by someone.
Xoren was later reunited with his daughter inadvertently through a series of events.
